Sorry, you are wrong there. Although new to FFRR's I have recently come from a VW T5 forum. It is a known fact (on there anyway) that using the incorrect oil in early T5's will result in premature camshaft wear & the incorrect oil in the later ones will result in issues with the DPF. Why do you think that a cheapskate outfit like VW produce &/or source so many different oils ? 2003 Range Rover Vogue TD6 |

I did qualify my comment with the correct type and spec... what you are talking about is high zinc additive like ZDDP for high pressure wear points like tap pets, buckets, shims and high pressure fuel pump etc.

Yes, Castrol recommend that oil, it meets the spec and type of use ie suitable for Diesel engines. |

Even if Castrol do recommend their oil I don't get why anyone would choose to NOT use the oil recommended by Landrover.
