I was just wondering - when I set the cruise control, the car slows when approaching slower moving cars. Do the brake lights come on to warn following drivers that I’m slowing? 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

As standard I don’t think the brake lights come on, as it’s only easing off the throttle.

I thought it just primed the brakes on the forward alert, so it went full on when you touched the brake pedal....when it was really close anyway.

Might be wrong, need to have another read.

Stan is correct, mostly just uses the engine and gearbox, but if traffic suddenly stops -- or if some dipstick pulls in front of you it will slam the anchors on -- now I don't know if it actually shows the brake lights, but assume it must Current: 2011 FFRR Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Yes , the brake do come on if the adaptive uses the brakes . Ive seen mine come on at night when the adaptive has slowed the car down with some heavy enough braking  2015 4.4 AB
