How do you replace the window trim / finisher on the rear door window ??

I noticed that somebody has once before replaced the rear left one but when they fitted it, it seems that they never quite went forward enough and the cut outs are not lining up properly.

Just so we talking about the right thing it’s this

It does look as though it could go forward a little. They are quite a tight fit length way. They just pull up & can be pushed back down, so you could have a go at realigning it.

Just replaced mine, easy to do but expensive.

They tend to corroded from the inside & then you see them start to splay out. They average out between £50 - £60 each & put a little petroleum jelly on the door flange before refitting the moulding (just keeps the water out a little longer).

Anyone got the part number for these ? Regards

Interesting. So with plastic trim tool, they will just pry upwards and off ?
Mine has two bubbling tatty door trims on the n/s I'd like to do.

Yeah just played with mine. Although now I want to replace it. So any part numbers would be great??

So the just pry up with trim tools and push back down.

The door has a metal ridge built into it and the trims push down onto this ridge. Regards

Daz, You need to check Microcat for the part No's as mine was 2006 & the part Nos were superceeded.

BMG, If yours are bubbling then they need replacing. Yes they come off with a plastic tool, but I would wait until you have new ones to go back on, as the originals may not sit back correctly.
