My passenger side steps start to retract on locking the car but come back out as though they have hit an obstacle. Had a quick look nothing seems to be fouling the mechanism.

as above..might have picked up some crud ...check connections and lube.. |

Oddly SWMBO locked the car yesterday and the steps retracted OK, so its not just me frightened of her

WD40 Is water displacement and the 40 is the batch composition number. It took them 40 attempts to get it right, it was originally going to be called water displacement... but 40 attempts to get it right later.. and so the name was born.

That should i clean the sidesteps with, As right now, the driver side one is misbehaving almost everyday.

Actually I gave them a good going over with the jet washer then re-greased the moveable parts with waterproof grease and kept moving them in and out until they were working properly 2015 L405 SDV8 Autobiography
