The kit is straight forward enough to replace
2 bolts 13mm removes the pollen filter
Remove engine cover
Unplug the 2 egr connectors
Move silver pipes across top of engine and tie back 3 8mm bolts
Move engine cover bracket back 4 10mm bolts
You will have to move some wiring looms across but don’t have to disconnect them
Then you can see what your doing 4 torx bolts each side will remove the egr angle pipes
Now blank out with 4 new bolts each side provided as depth of bolt is slightly smaller
Then reassemble
Max 1 hour

Egr valves will work as normal thus not illuminating light but are completely mechanical disabled
If they did fail worst case(they will not cause damage as they are not in system just turn on eml) —just pay to get them mapped out

Not an mot failure, mine has egrs deleted, had it tested yesterday...passed with no issues

I'm pretty sure it is an MOT fail. They're unlikely to spot it as they won't take the engine cover off, but if they're aware, I'm confident it's a fail

It sounds like your EGRs might have been stuck open if the motor is now generally smoother. So doing this was probably a very fortuitous move. ______________________________

I have been running emulators for over a year now. About a month ago I had an EGR cooler failure, pushing coolant straight out the exhaust system. Spectacular clouds of coolant steam that would have done James Bond proud. I now have no EGRs or coolers at all. I suspect I need to refit the thermostats from the coolers into the hose joiners I made as it runs a bit cooler than it used to. Other than that, no issues.

My tips for fitting the kit in case they're any use to anyone
. Make sure you have a long reach pick up tool such as a magnetic type or 'grabber'
. You need a T30 bit which is secure in its holder. Mine wasn't and I nearly lost it. So make sure you have a longish (6"?) reach T30 tool that won't come apart and get lost in the depths of the engine
. I found it easier to disconnect the plugs even though you don't have to. It was then easier to access the securing lugs and disconnect them from the support bracket

It was a job I wasn't looking forward to but in reality it wasn't too bad. Just be extremely careful not to drop anything... 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

I was told it is a very uncommon failure for the coolers to split. Guess I am just lucky!

Well after reading these posts I have ordered the blanking kit and weather dependent I will fit on Wednesday or Thursday and take photos hopefully
Never liked egrs so anything that takes them out the loop has to be a good thing for me

Which one did you go for Henda? Thinking about doing the same next weekend

It's got to be worth a try as all the posts on here about egrs failing and destroying the turbos to me means new turbos and egrs equals £££££'s or a few quid and maybe an eml light on before a delete maybe
