Exactly my point. Other thing to consider is the amount of burnt oil that the dpf does catch and the subsequent affect that has on loading the dpf. The problem is the turbo when worked doesn't drain its lubrication quick enough, hence the mod. Thrash it to burn it off regularly is not really an engineering solution. It may work in that you don't get large plumes of smoke, just smaller plumes more often and greater work load on dpf plus oil consumption. Cheers James |

From watching the soot load whilst reducing rear visibility to zero, it doesn't seem to affect the DPF, i must admit im surprised but it doesn't. BMW i3 Electric Car

^^^ complete opposite to mine, soot load through the roof under heavy work prior to mod being done. Cheers

How odd, i did worry about the DPF but it seems to happily cycle between 10% or thereabouts and 27% (or is it grams, I cant remember the units). I did a live trace on IID when I knew I could make it smoke and I absolutely nailed it, absolutely loads of smoke I couldnt see the road behind me and I kept it nailed, the DPF did go up slightly, about 1/2% of g but I assume that was the diesel burn rather than the oil. I tried it again from a standing start almost immediately, no smoke but the same tiny rise in DPF. BMW i3 Electric Car

It's grams I believe. Isint forced Regan at 28g? So it added 10% 2g after one bootfull..... I would say that's alot Cheers

Thank you, i thought it was forced at 28, failure at 30? Background as you say at lower rate. Since modmines runs around 7~10g whenever I check it, which coincidently must be soon after ravens. Cheers

A picture showing the drill bit in the top hole could be a little worrying! |
