4.4 TDV8 new battery

Hi Folks,

Fitted a new battery this evening, what a caper, I'd read somewhere that the Yuasa 020 at Halfords fitted in the tray, and being £7 cheaper than the 019 guess which one I went for......

I can tell you an 020 won't fit in a 2011 4.4 TDV8!

The 019 does fit nicely though

I am sure I've read it can be done but the bottom 'lugs' need trimming off.
. Cheers, Greg

Also I do think AGM is recommended, which 019 did you get?

Ah the battery swapping joys.....

There is also something about telling the charging system that it has a new battery, and yes, it should be AGM. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Still wouldn't work with the lugs off, there's no room for the +ve terminal connector!!!

Tell the car it has a new battery? How do you do that?

The 019 is the one suggested by the Halfords website, complete with 5 year warranty.

Can't say fairer than that I reckon! Current: 2011 FFRR Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Think you need a diagnostic tool or a friendly garage. Charging system needs to do different things I believe or battery life will be substantially shortened.

If you put agm charging or similar in to google might have more info.

Bushy that link you posted isn't AGM....

AGM 019 is here: https://www.halfords.com/motoring/bulbs-bl...-guarantee

I'm not suggesting the above is the best 019 AGM, just to show you - might be worth a conversation with Halfords if they offered up the other one, it doesn't meet your MY2011 spec.
. Cheers, Greg

Stan,
Did you get a 5yr Warranty with JLR ?
That was why I opted for this one.

Thanks for all the input chaps -- now I'm happy to be shot down, but with a 5 year guarantee and the fact that the Yuasa was the one they suggested when I entered my 'reg' will this not be OK -- I mean it's a battery, not likely to die over night, and if it begins to fail I'm likely to notice? My, I suspect original, battery as fitted gave me about 3 weeks notice it wasn't happy................. Current: 2011 FFRR Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

It'll be OK. I've had the same Yuasa 019 fitted for the past year and it's been fine.
