Hi all , i have been reading through the search function and can't find an answer to my issue so all thoughts welcome.

Playing with IID tool i noticed that the battery level in the top left corner of the IID screen shows 12.5 and it's green.

In live values the alternator is showing 50 to 90 amps during driving and if I turn on everything I can get it over 200 amps.

Also in live values the battery is at 85%( fairly new battery)

The RR always starts no problem, FBH works ( or did in the winter)

Occasionally I get the low battery warning but only once a month(ish) and only then if i have woken car lots of times without starting the engine.

If I hadn't seen the IID tool reading i wouldn't have thought anything was wrong.

what battery have you got fitted? There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Is it the 12.5v reading that is worrying you?

I asked GAP about a similar issue.
I tried using my iid with the engine off, but my CTEK plugged into the towing socket.
I was getting 13.5ish at the back on a meter, but only 12.5ish on the iid, then the low battery warning despite the fact it was charging at 13.5v.

They told me it is something to do with the way they derive the voltage reading and to run the engine when using the iid.

Thanks Mike, the reading on the IID tool was my main concern so that helps. As i say, i never have problems starting and the reason i changed batteries was it wouldn't always run the FBH and I some times got air suspension warnings. After battery change , 6 months ago, all has been good , until recently but suspension is now a different issue and I only happen to notice the IID tool display while looking at live values.

If anybody had time to check theirs view IID tool or had knowledge of what their 4.4 tdv8 alternator was putting out , amp wise , that would be a great help.

Just an update, put car on Ctec last night and it read 13.2 ( all bars full on display) this morning. I checked with IID and it read12.7V
Started RR and alternator output went to 140 amps and then settled down to 60- 70 amps.

Drove to work ( 30 miles) and checked with IID and now it read 14.5v, alternator amps read 50ish. While I was reading live values battery reading went to 14.3V.

Not sure if i have an issue or not. 2015 4.4 AB

if its reading about 14 and a bit volts with the engine running then you don't have an alternator issue  There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

you can monitor with the radio screen and the 753 hidden menu as you are driving along. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Hi bish, on the 2007 VSE I had it was main menu, press middle of screen near the top and the menu would appear and ask.for the code , which was 753, i haven't tried it on my 2011 yet. Plenty of info if you use the search function on here sir. 2015 4.4 AB

John might be that battery you got a good deal on a while back...

Did you get it locally? Maybe they can check it.

Hi Greg , that did occur to me but the IID tool is still shown 14.2V so I'm hoping all is ok. When i got the new battery I tried to select the corresponding one from the list on the IID tool but there wasn't one as powerful as my new one so i choose the closest one. On reflection i have now changed it to unknown or whatever term GAP used. I also told the car ( via IID tool , not verbally ) that i have installed a new battery so i will see what happens.

is it 14.2 with the engine off?
Take a note in the evening Ignition on but engine off and again in the morning.
PS don't leave the IID plugged in overnight.
