vibration issue

got a strange vibration from the rear nearside of the big fella , seems to happen between 30-55mph but not if im pressing on , I did note the top dog bone arm on that corner had some movement when I cleaned the brakes up the other week , could it be that allowing it to move about to much ??

Torque Converter ?
I know it’s not at the rear but hard to tell where vibration comes from sometimes

Check rear brakes for excess heat.

When you stripped the brakes did you have the carrier off and clean where the pads sit with a wire brush? Needs doing or the pads will stick in the carrier causing the disc to overheat and grab causing a vibration. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

it does this when I haven't even touched the brakes thow pal , it sounds a bit like when the suspension compressor kicks in , are the FF's known for the centre UJ on the prop shaft ?? it still puzzles me why its so specific to speed , if I bus along at 80mph , he's smooth and quiet , its really bugging me Neutral

There are lots of threads on vibration, so a search might throw up some suggestions. These include injector problems and wheel weights falling off. I have a recollection that the Td6 was set up for 18" wheels and that bigger wheels could make it vibrate.

There is an article in Auto Express called something like 'Not so good vibrations on a Range Rover Sport' which you could google, it says that the centre support bearing in the middle of the split rear propshaft is a common problem that causes vibration through the vehicle (the same set-up on D3/4 and 322). The symptoms described there sound a bit like what you have said. Only Range Rovers since 1988

I have had the same thing for the last 3 years.
Deffo near side, not so sure if front or rear.
Sounds like excess bass on the sound system.
Just touch the loud pedal and it goes.
Only around 40 - 50 MPH.
I have had the brakes changed many bushings changed and front struts, but still it is there.
Not got any worse.
Would be great to get rid of it.

well ive just read through a good number of threads mentioning a vibration , only one who found a cure said it was a faulty torque convertor , Im pretty sure that's not my issue , ive had a look an the prop shaft bearing and it doesn't look to degraded but I could move it with just the pressure of my hand , ive seen this bearing fail on other RWD cars and it creates the same symptom mine is displaying but as ever with an FF its not a 2minute job to change it

I checked my tyres already pal , they are / appear to be ok , im wondering if I can video the prop while driving , would need a remote camera I could mount underneath , there are plenty of place it could sit and I don't need to do more than 35mph hmmm . . . . . . . . . . . . . Razz

Eliminate the wheel/tyre by swapping with the spare. Then move forward to next item. Blunderbuss approach will not solve this. Defo ! .
