Yes thanks.
If I have to change this oil feed pipe No. 10 ( new # LR33343) then I must have access to the LH turbo too.
If the leak is comming from the return pipe No. 12 then access is only needed to RH turbo.

With the starter motor out I hope access to the RH turbo above is possible.
Or do other parts need to be taken out e.g. exhaust, EGR, front diff, etc?

Is easy access on the connection to the oil feed pipe ( No 10) to the LH turbo also given?
Or do I need to take of other parts too? RR 2012MY TDV8 AB ipanema sand

Jacked the car up this afternoon, RF wheel off, heatshield off and had a look upwards: the RH turbo is dry at the underside:
no leak there.
I could see some oil on the outside of what i define as a water conduct in aluminium running
between the change over valve on the inner valance and the bulkhead towards the HVAC unit inside.
I don't really have a clue where it is coming from: so booked the car in at the dealer for April 24th.
Hope to have some answers by the end of that week. RR 2012MY TDV8 AB ipanema sand

I've been a member on here for a few weeks now and this is the second time a write up has been really helpful. I too had the smell of burning oil on reversing. I was due to take it back to the dealer I bought it from to investigate when I thought, for 90p and half an hour's work, I may as well do it myself. Followed the instructions and very quickly replaced the very worn O-rings. One is worn much more than the other so clearly an issue. On taking the pipe off I noticed the casting seam runs right across the holes which seems daft to me and I may look to add another seal later to counter this. Fingers crossed and thanks again.
The new ones are on the right ( not that it isn't obvious )

What I'm wondering is these two o-rings commonly replaced can't be the only non-vitron seals around this engine. I for one have got another leak somewhere else yet to found.

What about the other end of this pipe for instance, anyone looked into where that pipe comes from?
. Cheers, Greg

Greg,
Sorry the pictures are not very clear, but No10 is the pipe and it feeds oil directly into the 2 turbos.
No.11 and 12 might be worth looking for. They are the oil return pipes from the turbos.

so....just got the Westy back from a 5 week holiday in the garage...they have now replaced 2 shocks that were leaking, installed the turbo drain mod, replaced the seat belt, replaced a xenon headlight and lastly replaced the battery as they told me that was the fault with the the pre heater not kicking in.....being an amateur is there any easy way to check that the battery has been replaced ? I didnt check before it went in as it only got diagnosed while in the garage, I am a bit suspicious as the drivers seat memory is still correct so I assume maybe there is some sort of backup battery they use ?? Thanks I need more help than most...sorry !!

LR dealer called me today and said they will have to change the oilcooler as they detected oil in the V.

Estimated costs: appr. € 900,-. No warranty peeps to send the bill to. Big Cry

Hopefully ready Thursday morning.

I'll give feedback if further details known.

picked up the car this morning, all OK.
They only charged the oilfilter & coller ( #LR022895), no oilfeed pipe.
This part is the whole unit: seal, oilfilter housing with filter, oilcooler.

They charged only one hour labour, took the rest in warranty!
So very pleased with this.
Nevertheless, a cooler is a non moving part on the engine and should not burst or crack.
But is it the oilcooler or is it the filterhousing as they changed both?

After changing myself before both seals of the oilfilterhousing and cooler no leaks were visible arround the oilfeed pipe at the back of the engine.

Thanks to you all for your input. RR 2012MY TDV8 AB ipanema sand

Not had chance to look at the leak yet, but can i ask, how much oil was being lost. I have ordered the O rings as the bearings place is just down the road from me, so going to have a go anyway. A small patch where the car is parked at night is now showing, checked the water tank and that doesn't seem to have any oil in, so is it likely to be the rings that need sorting, or is it time to go to the indy?
