Talk to BAS Remaps, He will do your map and egr delete in one file for you.. actually i think it was two but all in succession with the egr delete done first.. He may even give you a slight discount if you do both together . I had my 3.6TDV8 done (remap and egr delete) and been perfect so far. I would not waste your time with any other company

Just getting back to this thread.

I've been a bit pushed for free time (been away on hols too) and finally after like two months, finally got my IIDTool working today fully thanks to Patrick at GAP. (Thanks Patrick!)

Any pointers for newbie on how to edit the CCF would be most welcome!

Any top CCF edits most welcome too!

I also have this error code relating to EGR

ah thanks kbald, I posted before search!

A quick 5min skim over those and it's mixed opinion. Many say it's nothing but IanT599 says it'll cause over-fuelling.

So do I just go into that menu and change it? I have this probably wrong idea that I have to upload a file.

I've not spent too much time with my IID.

Yep, having done my first CCF change this week for the digital speedo, it is very simple Greg.

Just go into Car Config in the IID tool, it will first backup your CCF if you haven't already, and then it gives you a list of parameters for each ECU that it can change, with drop downs on each for the possible values you can select. Update what you want, and when finished you tell it to upload your changes in a single hit, and it will upload a complete modified CCF file at the end when you're ready. The tool will prompt you to turn the car on/off and stat/stop the engine at the end. The IIDTool does have 2 CCF editing menus, I forget the exact language but something like "supported features" and "features in beta testing". I played it safe and just looked in the "supported features" that is listed first!

But as GAC23 says, once you've uploaded the CCF changes the date/time get reset on your dash and centre screen (and the audio settings reset apparently, but I didn't notice that!). The date/time gave me a bit of a shock and I was sure I'd broken something, but you just have to change them via your central touch screen afterwards.

You might like to edit the suspension height - assuming you've fitted bigger wheels.

And I always find the one touch windows need resetting after a CCF edit. What do I put here then?

So I thought I'd give it a go this morning....

My battery's in it's twilight but starts fine every time, even if I watch a bit of Top Gear on Dave for a bit with the engine off.

But the CCF edit really drained the battery, started at 12.9v and, while doing it's auto on-off-on-off sequence, I watched it drop and drop - 12.2 then 11.8, 11.5 - got really worried I'd killed it.

Then IID said failed upload then a bunch of errors came up on the dash. I thought there's no way it would crank on the last reading of 11v but thankfully it fired into life.

Hindsight's brilliant and I remember reading somewhere that a low battery is a bad idea for IID work. Should have remembered that before I steamed in.

It runs, got me to work but cruise control and some other functions are unavailable.

I'll have to wait for DRLs while I look at batteries!

Upload failed is normal. Don't worry, it hasn't failed.

Also normal - well, mine does it - is the bunch of errors on the dash.

To sort this I ... switch ignition off ... get out of car ... lock & unlock ... then start car.

And to get the fairy lights on (no lights at rear) is BCM Body Control >> DRL standard >> Active.

And - if you need to - set DRL Canadian and DRL Scandinavian to Disabled.

Have you changed wheel size?

If you have, IPC Instrument Pack >> Rolling Radius ABS mm needs to be correct to keep your speedo accurate.

According to the very helpful Patrick @ GAP, the other wheel / tyre size options don't affect the speedo - but I changed all of these too.

To help me work out the rolling radius, Patrick sent me this:

The 390 mm is based on a Cooper Zeon LTZ in a 285/60-18.

The tire itself is stated to measure 31.46 inches which equates to 799mm or 399.5mm radius.

In order to account for the weight of the car compressing the tire sidewalls I put a mark on the tire perpendicular to the ground and also marked the ground.

I then rolled the LR3 forward so the mark on the tire did 1 full revolution and then marked the ground again when the mark on the tire was perpendicular to the ground again....then measured between the two marks on the ground and that came to 780mm or 390 radius.

Checking speedo against those speed signs which show your speed suggests it's ok. What do I put here then?
