Nino,
I have just thought of something.
When you have your Ctek connected do you switch ignition on again, but not start engine?
If so does the iid voltage change when you switch ignition off?

I have just re-tried, but switching ignition on or off does not affect iid voltage reading .
It is always 12.2v until the engine is started. Connecting or removing the Ctek makes no difference.

Mike . i'm pretty sure these are the reason for your readings,

Sitting in car with engine running iid shows 14.7. Volts....the iidtool is reading the alternator voltage.

Stop engine and it pretty soon drops to 12.2 Volts....no alternator charge so it reads the battery voltage.

Connect Ctek it reads 13.7Volts at socket, but still 12.2Volts on iid....the battery charger 'feeds' its voltage to the battery in a different way [pulse?] to the alternator hence the the 12.2 volt reading.. ... - .- -.

Thanks Stan, that makes sense, but Nino says he connects his Ctek when using iid?
I will wait to see if he replies.
I have sent a PM to Patrick at GAP to check .

ditto, I run engine to- plus connect ctek for insurance, when changing car config. settings IIDTool turns off and on ignition several times- hence ctek set to supply. and yes IIDTool reads 12.2V with engine not running. I have not done ECU flushing - update- yet. I understand that some of this can take 40+min. to finish. We need somebody who has done it to chime in.

Thanks for your reply Nino.
I misunderstood.
I thought you were saying you use your iid with your Ctek with the engine off.

No problem, I will just leave the engine running whenever I connect my iid.

The car can’t be running when flashing ECU. So battery needs to be good or use inline charger or jump leads and a running car works 4.2 SC - sold , now bought back
