United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Vogue SE Supercharged Buckingham Blue

Congratulations! You will love it. Driving mine about now for the last few days, I wonder to myself how I ended up selling my old one for the Defender...but then my 50th did have a 5.0L JE lump, maybe that was it Laughing Aaron

Nothing untoward that I could see - they took it as a part ex a couple of months ago against a Kahn Defender, started advertising at more like £28k, but didn't sell it at that price, and now want to move it on. It only came out the official dealer network as Approved Used 2 years ago, and has been serviced by main dealers or an independent London-based LR specialist in the ~15k miles it's covered since then, and just had a fresh MOT 4 days ago. All history looked good, and overall condition of the car inside, outside and underneath seemed excellent as well. We took it for a drive and it seemed perfect, the engine and gearbox seemed very healthy.

So much so that I've agreed a very good p/x on my Defender with them, a platinum warranty for 12 months, and will be picking up this S/C on Thursday evening!

Having only ever owned and driven Defenders since I was 16/17, this will be very different Smile.

Brilliant I wish you many happy miles and smiles Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

I'd say prices for diesels are dropping. For example 2011 4.4TDV8's are now plentiful not just under 20k which was a real shoulder point last (I'm still getting alerts a year after buying mine) but now I'm seeing them £18995 and even £17995 etc.
Seems more than natural depreciation.

Makes the 4.4TDV8 an absolute bargain !
. Cheers, Greg

Agreed, if it wasn't for living in London and all the diesel fuss here, I'd have snapped up a 4.4 TDV8, loads of them around for good prices now, and in a much wider range of colours than the Supercharged ones!

Looking forward to the S/C though, will just have to resist the temptation to boot it too often, so I can claim the mpg is similar to the Defender...

I actually have someone coming to view that tonight as well, so might end up selling privately rather than doing the p/x after all.

The Defender went privately tonight for full asking price and has been driven away, so after 9 years of ownership I'm car less until Thursday evening when I pick up the 5.0 S/C.

Sad the see the Defender go after so many wonderful years with it (I thought I'd never sell it it was so reliable and such a perfect runner), but my fiancé definitely prefers the ride in the Range Rover, so looking forward to some more luxurious adventures in the new vehicle!

Making sure I have enough money in the account for the fuel bill to drive it home Smile. Thankfully I'll be following fiancé in her car, so won't be able to test it out too much.

Well done on the sale of your Defender Paul, and congrats on your new purchase - that spec/colour combo is almost identical to mine and it does set the car off very nicely indeed.

With regards to the wear on the outer seat bolsters, I guess it is one of the downsides of an Ivory interior that will inevitable show marks much easier than a darker colour. It certainly makes a difference to ask any passengers you are carrying to actually use the side steps to get in and out though.

Bet you can't wait to pick it up tomorrow - it is such a comfy place to be and that 5.0SC engine certainly makes me smile every time I drive mine - you are going to love it Very Happy

Cheers, Mark

Thanks Mark, very much looking forward to tomorrow night now! I'll keep researching leather cleaning on here, but the few problem areas looked fairly superficial, so I'm hoping they will clean right up, and we will definitely be careful with getting in to try and protect them in the future.

Need to fill the petrol tank first, as it was pretty empty, but then ready for a nice motorway drive home Smile.

Picked it up last night and had a wonderful drive home in comfort.

In all the excitement I left the screw on fuel filler cap at the petrol station, but oh well, I can easily get another! Having both a flap and a screw cap clearly confused me, I've only ever had one or the other...

Only got home at 23:00, so didn't get much of a chance to play with it, but have at least managed to link up the phone, tune the DAB radio and vaguely got the Nav to give me directions (which admittedly I didn't like or follow!). We have a longer drive to Dorset tonight, so fiance can try to sort out the TV tuning and other A/V things while we waft along.

I managed to average 24.1 mpg on the way back, which was mainly fast, clear roads, so will be interesting/scary to see how much it drops going through Central London tonight...

Will hopefully take some photos at the weekend.

Hope it's the first of many.

Enjoy - I'm sure you will. What do I put here then?
