5.0 s/c

Hi everyone, just joined! I'm hoping to purchase a 5.0 s/c 2010 60,000mls fsh I have read about potential engine/supercharger rattle but other than that I know nothing about these full size vehicles as mine is the 4.2s/c Sport so any advice would be welcome. thanks.

United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Supercharged 5.0 SC V8 Stornoway Grey

There's lots of information on here if you search for "supercharged", "4.2 vs 5.0" etc.

e.g.:

http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic46198.html

I pick up my 2011 ~64k miles 5.0 S/C this evening, my first ever RR after owning Defenders all my life, so going to be extremely different for me!

From my research so far, the main 5.0 S/C issue seems to be the timing chain/tensioners/guides which can disintegrate, cause an engine rattle and need replacing. I have seen a few posts about problems with the nose of the supercharger as well, but far less.

Obviously loads of generic L322 things to look for, fairly well detailed in the buying guide in the wiki above (common corrosion spots in the wheelarches, electrical problems, etc).

Good luck in your purchase!

regards,

Paul
