That is absolutely correct, and from what I can see the go directly into the plates. As soon as my replacement arrives, I’m going to break it open. 😁

in regard to the heated/cooled seat control module, i see lots that look identical but have different part numbers, mine is
AW93-14B663-AD
Have seen others available with part numbers
HLV500060, HLV500070, HLV500080
AW93-14B663-AC
can anyone tell me if these are all the same part and are interchangeable, thanks FF TDV8 WESTMINSTER EXTERIOR DESIGN PACK 2012

Millerj90i was hoping to hot wire mine into working with an external thermistor, and use the whole assembly to heat the air in my biltong drying box! But I was a little over enthusiastic with the tear down Whistle 2006 RR sport HSE

This got me to thinking - again dangerous - a thermistor is just a heat sensitive resistor so if the value of the resistance was known for a given heat the thermistor could simply be replaced with a resistor in line for a fixed heat setting. Geoff

Geoff
That would work in theory, but it won’t take into account the other variables! Ie size of the arse on the seat and the effect of the air flow around or even from it lol Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter 2006 RR sport HSE

Has anyone tried swapping the peltior unit from the squab into the seat back to see if it resolves the non heating problem without spending £260 on a new back module (heater and fan unit )?.

Unfortunately the pettier cell in the back has the thermistors in, and the squab has none as the back unit controls the pair! 2006 RR sport HSE

Are you sure as looking at my underseat one it has the same 4 wires (2 green , 1 blue and 1 yellow) going into it as the one in the seat back ? Surely as it's a separate unit it will need the same type of temp control to stop any overheating .

I was only going from memory as mine happened early last year!

I would imagine all the peltier cells are made the same so as to save production costs????? In witch case it could be worth a try swapping them over to see if that does the trick? Might be the cheaper option we are all looking for.

I distinctly remember reading somewhere that the seat back unit controlled the heat output as it was always on when the heated seats were on, so therefore was the master! Where as the squab unit can be user selected on or off, so would only mirror what the seat back unit was doing.

I might be wrong though!!! I'll have a rummage around to see where i read that info! 2006 RR sport HSE

Not yet. Weather has not been conducive to ripping the seat out. But it does make a whole lot of sense
