United Kingdom 2002 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Zambezi Silver

Right where do I start!

Gummi Pfleged the door & bonnet seals

Replaced all 8 spark plugs - V8 or else!!

Replaced the Radiator, thermostat, flushed the system, fitted new fan cowl filled with new coolant and bled the system

Replaced both LPG filters (pre & post vaproriser)

Drained the transmission, replaced the filter and gasket and topped up with fresh Mobil oil. The oil that came out was very sludgy, there was also a lot of swarf on the magnets. Fill aand rain plugs were VERY hard to get out.

Fitted Front mantec sumpguard - needed SWMBO to help with that one and a double jointed wrist!!

Took her to refuel for a test drive, she is pulling like a train and touch wood no torque convertor vibration!

I think that is it

Drove to the dump to get rid of all the rubbish from yesterday's escapades

Changed the Rear Diff oil ( it was getting dark last night!! ) and pleased to see the oil looked OK as the case was a bit oily! Thumbs Up

Drove 298 miles round trip to deliver a Christmas present to my dear ole Mum. Sat at 75mph on cruise control most of the time. A lovely relaxing and comfortable drive and for a 4.4 AJV8 dead happy with a fuel return of 23mpg. Car is now suitably filthy for me to try out my new snow foam and polishing kit! Very Happy

Blimey NobbyC, how do you get 23MPG? Best I've ever done is 17MPG on a long run.

Nowt special,. Car has had a major service this year with autobox flushed thro and diff oils changed and has been smooth as can be ever since. Other than that I just make sure my tyre pressures are spot on before any long trips. Could be down to a lighter right foot when accelerating away from junctions, etc I suppose. Local driving I get between 17.5 and 18.3mpg and all fuel consumption is calculated on actual fuel useage as I always refill brim to brim rather than going by the inaccurate computer read out. Worst consumption I've had was 14mpg in the snow.

Santa brought me some nice FF gifts:

BT IID Tool
Dolry Stone for Airplay audio (hope it works!)
Two LR umbrbrellas (a large - and a small)
A very nice First Aid Kit
An AA tyre kit (pressure and depth reader)
...and a partridge in a pear tree!

So I'm all sorted!

Now realised the base of the tree looking pretty naked there in the pic, was rammed last night!

Merry Christmas all,
Greg Cheers, Greg

What did I do in my FF today? Absolutely nothing.

Sadly not one bit of RR action as I'm doing my tax return Big Cry and took my wife's car for MOT. Which passed Thumbs Up

Gave her an oil change and engine flush like always.

I always change the oil between 7-8k (which half of the 15k they recommend) mileage and this time was 6896 since last change little sooner then normal but been doing a lot stop start driving lately as been cold and wife been using for all school runs and nursery runs each day. so around 6 short journeys each day which will break down the oil faster.

Lovely 8.5litres of 0w40 goodness should keep the engine running lovely over the winter. 2003 Range Rover 4.4 Litre V8 - Adriatic blue
