Tracking

I bought a trakrite for doing several cars I maintain , and after replacing the inner track rod drivers side , decided to check it on my new purchase.
After jumping in and out 10 times to adjust the drivers side , not easy in a small wooden hut!
I checked the untouched nearside .....wel it was showintowwed out ,so went to adjust uh ah, seized so will have to jack up and use a bit of heat.
Strange thing was while correct drivers side it said on the poiter it was toed in , so I thought extend rod , it made it worse , odd I thought, so basically by extending it by unscrewing it it should have righted it, the other way prove to correct this . Perhaps the other side will resolve this .
Struggling a bit, however tonight or tomorrow.
So that's what I attempted to do !!!!!!!!!

After much heat and removal of track rod end successsful . Holy hell wasn't meant to be this hard ....was it?

Same here bought one years ago just to get tracking some where near after working on front of cars, bit of a pain in the rear if no body about drive car forward for you while move gauge from side to side but have in the past had people say it was that near spot on tyre bay said within tolerance dont touch it.

Haha can’t leave it alone , was in about .4 of the reading , should have left it alone , quite apart from jumping in and out 10 times for the drivers side , should have left alone as you say.
Can only get better, free it all off and recalculate. 😒

Got back from a 800 mile round trip in my new to me 4.2- and found the recently ordered IID tool had arrived ...
So I flashed the BT and Suspension ECUs , cleared some stored faults
Then ordered 20l of ATF M 1375.4 to flush the transmission -

Poor girl hadn't been off the driveway since the Wednesday before Christmas, so i took her to the Shell garage, filled her up and took her on a gentle drive. A 40 mile round trip just to enjoy the early afternoon, nothing excessive.

Had a run up to Direct 4x4 in Derby to get a set of Raptor 70" sidesteps fitted - 70" rather than 72" so I can keep the front mud flaps on. Very pleased with the result, as is Domestic Zero who now finds it much easier to get in& out of the big fella . . . apart from when we stopped for a brew at the M1/A43 services, when she forgot that we'd had them fitted (less than 2 hours earlier!) and scraped one of her shins as she was descending! Did a 400 mile round trip to Wales and back yesterday, taking my 82yr old Mother home Very Happy

Shocking wet weather and rainstorms on M4 but the Westie was faultless through it all giving bags of confidence compared to other cars I've had, especially through some of the standing water.

The elevated driving position is hugely beneficial too in such conditions. Thumbs Up

And, of course, incredibly comfortable even after 8 hours in the saddle Shocked Shocked 2021 D350 Fifty Edition - Carpathian Grey
