No more noise

I got the air-con regassed after reading a few posts in the forum suggesting that the irritating noise I could hear when the air con was on, which varied with the engine revs, could be caused by low gas pressure. Result Exclamation Noise gone and I am now back to silent running as it was when I bought it last year. With the added bonus of it being properly cold again, just in time for winter. Rolling Eyes Just pleased it's not a new compressor or fiddly tensioner replacement job.

I also fitted the new coolant expansion tank as I was starting to get spurious coolant low messages. Nice easy job, thanks to Cam-tech Craig for pointing out the obvious fix. Bow down

I also got some prices for sorting out my rear arches.... Big Cry Exclamation Exclamation

Remember it is also a dehumidifier and will keep your cabin condensation free.
Plus, never turn off the climate, you will dry out the seals and that can start to get expensive.

Also, hate to say this, if you have lost the gas it has escaped from somewhere, did you get an aircon company to test it before getting a refill?
Quite often the seal at the fill point that fails, which is a £5 part.
If you find it is making a noise again in a couple of weeks get a local specialist out. Porsche 911 (996)

Drove to dat der lundun and back with only one ' water in fuel' message which I cleared. ( See maintenance/ mods section ). Have ordered replacement sensor now to see if that stops the problem message. Trip showed average of 32 mpg for 420 trip.

Replaced the front drop links.

It wasn't really clunking as such, I just never felt it was as smooth as it could/should be over rough roads and tracks.

I had someone look at it and they said it was all fine, but I had my doubts.

Fitted the drop links and now it feels so much nicer, even over a really rutted track it soaks it all up beautifully. Porsche 911 (996)

Cleaned the MAP sensors today, although they were surprisingly clean already. Whilst I had the engine cover off I noticed another leakage from a the end of a hose. The hose clip seemed to be pretty loose so cleaned it up and nipped it tight. I’ll keep an eye on it.

Also lubed the lower tailgate springs to eliminate an annoying noise on opening and closing.
