It would only look vastly different if the seat base foam has collapsed. If not, might be worth getting someone to take the base cover of and refit it and repair it if necessary.

I took the p38 seats apart to repair the heated element in the seat its not a difficult job on these either just the hog rings and on the p38 I binned them and used cable ties - that was 10 years ago and still have the p38 and its still good |

I replaced my seat base, was fiddly but not too difficult. It must be done out of the car and an extra pair of hands really is needed as you need someone to steady the seat as you apply pressure here and there. The old one is easy to get out, but the leather is much tighter going over the new foam obviously.

I've done a few of these and as Dan Uk 1984 says, once the seat is out of the vehicle (necessary, remember to disconnect the battery first before unplugging the various electrical connectors, else you'll trigger the airbag warning and need an iid or similar to reset and only connect the battery again once everythings back in place) so long as you're methodical, it's not too challenging. Metal snips (to cut the existing hog rings securing the leather cover to the seat foam) and hog ring pliers (to re-attach) are needed, not too difficult once you get the hang of it. Some use plastic tie wraps instead, but I personally wouldn't.

Hog rings are cheap and can be fitted with ordinary pliers, fiddly but do-able. |
