Just had National Windscreen replace the front and all looked ok. My Son came home (techie apprentice) and took one look at the top of the A posts and pointed out the lack of seal or cover etc.

when the screen fitters told me they had 'finished' there was a gap between the screen base and scuttle trim which I was not happy about so this took over the conversation. I did not spot the error at the top corner. (bit embarrassed about that)

Can anyone take a photo of a factory finished Top of A post to screen junction for me please? NW are supposed to be sending someone out tomorrow and I want to have some ammo in my back pocket.

This is how it was left.... The top roof strip appears quite loose on each side too.

The flappy bit at the end is attached to the roof finisher trim and literally just sits there.
Had a look at some spare trims I have and there the same as what's on my car already.

I had a similar problem with auto glass a few years ago and they took it in and replaced the windscreen yours has been fitted wrong when they are fitted correct the trims all fit flush also they should have used new trim not the old one as it gets twisted when they take it off hope that helps

Would hazard a guess it's a couple of mm to high. Would take a pic of mine, but I'm away, so can't. In any case never been a really good fit! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I'll post the outcome for reference. - I think a lot of insurance firms use National Windscreens.

Make sure your roof trim is pressed down securely,The flappy bits in the corners are fixed to that.
Having removed some from a scrapper recently,they seem to just push down on the screen with the force of the fitting in the roof gutter.
They may have dislodged it whilst fitting.

I have to say notwithstanding the fact they made the error in the first place, National Windscreens have made good. By 9am this morning they had rung me back and by 12:00pm it was all fixed.

The front flappy rubber 'square' has been relocated both sides and further secured with non-setting adhesive putty (in case the screen needs to ever come out again)

no more wind noise and much more confidence with the replacement screen.
