Never heard of anyone using another turbo. I can't see that fitting different turbos would be easy given they operate by an electronic actuator. ______________________________

Had mine replaced recently and was very surprised how small they are. Would need a remap to cope with extra air and maybe larger injectors. 2015 4.4 AB

Yes the look fairly small, but I suppose there's two of them and each bank is only 1800cc.

Hybrid turbos aren't some magic performance part, they're just turbos assembled with a non-standard cold or hot side - not sure it's really a valid term nowadays, when you can buy one with pretty much whatever spec you want. |

So would a modified compressor in the turbo not improve the performance ? |

Ive had cosworths and Subarus with Hybred turbos over the years and they all required larger injectors, bigger intercoolers, different ecus, etc. I dont think just modifying a turbo with a larger compressor wheel , etc would be effective becuase the standard ECUmight not have the parameters to deal with more airflow and provide enough fuel to match the increased airfllow.
