i had the same problem until i noticed the tiny chip on the lounge floor ! Apologies if i've posted this on my phone and it contains strange spelling and punctuation.. i just can't be bothered to correct it

As Avi says, not attached to anything. It just sits next to the rubber button inlay (upper left with the key blade pointiong upwards) under the circuit board. There should be a pic with the instruction sheet that came with the buttons.

Do some searching! It has to be somewhere! Howbout the dustbag in the vacuum cleaner?

key has to be within inches to activate - listen for the click as the key goes in...

chip may have been stuck to the old damaged rubber button panel - bins in minute

Do another search on the floor around where you replaced the buttons. I once sprang a steel ball out of a synchro for a Austin Healy gearbox about 5meters from where I was working - and found it. It was only 1/4th the size of your chip...

I spent all morning going through two bin liners full of waste (youngest was sick the night before ) with gloves on outside in -4 but to no avail I could not even find the discarded black rubber bits!!!

Looks like I am going to have to bite the bullet and order a new one at £187 + VAT F**K

Just ordered it at £167 inc VAT as a trader with local stealer.

Did you have to have the new key programmed (not synced but programmed) at the dealer and how much did they charge?

PS: I opened the good key and saw that the black chip sits under the board on the black rubber just as stated earlier in thread. As its stuck to the rubber its very east to throw it away when replacing the rubber so beware

Programming - No not yet as the steller could not do it when I [icked it up, but wantred £40 to do it

The parts guy did say that the odd time they did work straight out the box. Mine didn't
