Whistle you've obviously never jacked up a ffrr....cos they go on and on and on... and just when you think it'll never lift the wheel off the ground it finally does.. And for all you ffrr jacking virgins take our word for it rather than put it to the test... jacking up a ffrr with either a 2 stage bottle jack or the factory jack Shocked is not something that should be done for fun, only in an emergency, and as a last resort Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... even if you jack it up under the suspension arm?

this is what I used to do on the D4, worked perfectly (this photo doesn't have the block of wood).

That's not the safest option, it only takes the suspension to have one of it's little paddies and it'll pop off the jack.... if you use a high lift (2 stage ) bottle jack in the jacking positions on the sill it is held in place... I'd only use my trolley jack to raise a ffrr at that point cos the cup is 100mm dia and it also has a rubber insert for added grip Thumbs Up Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Rik, td5 jack is perfectly ok, have used mine on td5 since the year 2000 and on the ffrr for the past two and it works great. here are pictures of the jack i use. Notice that head of the jack is made to fit cars lifting point to prevent movement.

and for your question, rodp, this is the way I store my.

Notice I removed original jack and am using space for jack stand.

hope this helps.

O, and for the whistling guys, they are mostly whistling dixie Very Happy

dispense with blocks of wood, spacer etc and just get this and have plenty of lift.

How about this jack? Just keeping it in the truck won't harm the longevity of the jack?

@nino.

Sorry, I cannot see exactly what shape the head of your bottle jack is. Is there a specific shape for the RR? Or can I buy the correct shaped head from somewhere?

If so, where please.

Many thanks.

Update: It's OK. I have bought a TD5 bottle jack as per the thread above. Will follow you @nino and use a sturdy block of wood to raise the jack up a bit. Thx.

NOPE!! it's a single stage lift, the Mercedes Sprinter jacks are telescopic 2 stage, which gives them almost twice the lift of a standard bottle jack. Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Any reason why lifting from the suspension arm is not recommended?

Midgets you say it could pop off... Why is that? If another say opposite well is chocked?
. Cheers, Greg
