ACC retrofit to MY12 4.4 TDV8 help

I have fitted a new radar unit, new left steering wheel switch bank and made some CCF changes to enable ACC including with queue assist. Shortly after start-up the message 'Forward alert not available' occurs and any attempt to use CC causes the message 'Cruise not available'.

A permanent DTC U2101-00 (AF) 'Control module incompatible configuration' is set for the ACC module. I don't know if the DTC is set because the radar unit has yet to be calibrated or if the CCF is not correctly set. It would be helpful if someone with a MY11/12 4.4 TDV8 fitted with ACC and has a diagnostic tool (eg IIDTool or Faultmate Extreme) could confirm the following particular settings. The settings for a MY10 3.6 and a 5.0 might be different so not conclusive.

Collision mitigation by braking : GEN1
Forward collision warning : GEN1

Currently I cannot calibrate the radar unit. My Faultmate Extreme aborts with an error that may be due to the U2101-00 DTC or may be due to a Faultmate s/w shortcoming (the problem has been reported to BBS) and my IIDTool does not have the option to calibrate the radar unit.

Thanks for any help that can be provided.

Thanks for the replies. I somehow missed seeing the thread updates until just now - my apologies for not checking sooner.

An IIDTool will only show all the parameters if you have full ccf access and using the tool's latest beta version firmware. If full ccf access has been granted and the beta firmware loaded then there will be an extra option to show untested parameters when selecting ccf values. Following is what I have set.

Speed control – adaptive fitted
Adaptive speed control ECU – North America, Canada, Mexico, Australia
Adaptive speed control ECU – standard blockage level –40dB (perhaps should be BOTH)
Collision mitigation by braking – fitted
Standard speed control display type – Adaptive speed control full display plus priority messages
Speed control – ACC_QUEUE
Adaptive speed control indication in instrument cluster – enabled
Speed control – Adaptive speed control, stop and go
Collision mitigation by braking – GEN 1 (perhaps another option but tried them all yet the DTC still occurs)
Forward collision warning – GEN 1 (perhaps GEN 2 or GEN 3 but tried them all, matching the above GEN1/2/3)

Patrick at Gap Diagnostics has said they will look into the possibility of adding the option to calibrate the radar.

It would be great except that Patrick has advised that the radar unit is for a Jaguar which means that it was misrepresented in the ebay advert stating that it was LR029157, the RR/RRS version, which it cannot be. An attempt to reflash the firmware with the RR/RRS version failed.

Having determined that the wrong radar unit has been acquired, instead of CCF parameters I need to know the ecu assembly and hardware details for the ACC module as shown by an IIDTool Ecu Infos display to allow a correct module to be acquired. The details below are from the Jaguar radar module.

CCM-Cruise Control

Assembly (F113)
CX23-9G768-AD

Hardware (F111)
BW83-14D047-AA

The latest probable assembly number that I've spotted is BH32-9G768-AD.

Thanks Mark. However that's not ACC, which is CCM-Cruise Control and appears following BCM-Body Control in the list of ecus.

Thanks Mark, that's exactly what I need! I've already set the Jag parameter back to ACC until I get it working then will change to activate queue assist.

I'm taking steps to recover the cost of my current radar module and will buy a correct one this time, relying on the assembly number shown on the label rather than a part number that isn't on the label. There's a couple available now so will buy one shortly.

Thanks again,
Graeme

Update: Gap Diagnostics has provided a firmware re-flash to the correct firmware. Setting calibration mode will be the next and hopefully the last step.

Cyprus 2003 Range Rover HSE 4.4 V8 Java Black

Hiya GraemeS

I also retro fitted ACC to my vehicle a little while back and had some trouble figuring out everything that I needed to change in my Vehicles CCF to get it working properly.

In the end I found a vehicle that had CCF installed from factory, got its VIN and used the Genesis's quite smart compare functions to highlight the differences. One of the most unusal i recall was a parameter labeled CMbB that I now know stands for Collision Mitigation by Braking.

After making almost half a dozen changes, I now have my retro fitted ACC fully working as it should.

Hope this helps 2003 4.4 HSE

Great topic Graeme Thumbs Up

Is all the wiring and connectors for the various ACC hardware already installed or did you also have to purchase additional wiring looms etc? 2021 D350 Fifty Edition - Carpathian Grey
