front sensors stopped working

HI guys Bow down

my front sensors have stopped working? not just one but all of them, one day all was fine, next minute, nothing, ??

does it sound like could be the main module in the rear could have partly failed? as the rear is working fine ::

I had this issue on mine. When the ignition is on you have to listen to the PDC's individually as they admit a tapping noise. Each should have the noise and if one doesn't then you know that's the faulty one

Think you can press the Button on the dash to switch them on then listen for the ticking don't stand in front of a car with engine on a drive engaged!

hi guys

well i have had a listen to each of the four front sensors and as far as i can make out, none of them are ticking, so would you think it points to the control uint in the rear fuse panel could be at fault ? and is there anyway of testing,? IE could i change the rear unit with the front ? as the rears are all working fine??

I am guessing you have listen to the rear sensors to know the clicking noise your listening out for? I think they all use the same ECU, so sadly in your case it could be all four individual sensors. Perhaps buy one sensor as a spare and test it out in the front bumper to see if it admits the clicking noise.

Usual thing is the wiring loom from the sensors to the car, the rears are always failing and the fronts do to, could be corroded plugs or chaffed wire.. worth checking before changing the control unit, which, if the rears work is unlikely to be faulty... Pete

AAH OK. well i would be most suprised if all the front sensors failed at the same time, so would imagine it is perhaps a fault in the main wire running to the sensors ? i will attempt to remove the front bumper and have a look,

i cant listen out for the clicking of the rear ones as they all work and as soon as i try to get near them to listen, they go off !!!, unles im doing something wrong, then please correct me Rolling Eyes

hi, i dont think i wworded my last reply very well:

the front and rear were all working fine, one day i noticed the fronts just stopped, ( all of them ) , the rears work fine,

i understand to the guys saying to switch the ignition on, then switch the sensors on and listen to the rears so i get to know what the clicking sounds like; but as i said, when i go to listen for the clicking, as soon as i get close enough to a sensor; it goes off, !!! ( not off as in not working ), but goes off as in making the warning sounds !! Embarassed Rolling Eyes Thumbs Up

Don't know if this helps, but on my old TD6 my front never worked from purchase.

However when the suspension pump failed and was replaced, it went in for an software update for the pump, when returned the front were working Three things in a blokes life his dog,his car and a Cornish pasty, nothing else matters.
