Is there any way you can tell if this mod has been done? Mine is not smoking or acting up in any way at all, but I would like to know whether or not I am likely to have problems. I had it done on my Disco which was smoking badly on acceleration. |

I have got a paper copy of the relevant Technical Bulletin ( LTB005513v4 ) which is very comprehensive with lots of pictures and 17 pages of detailed instructions, but , sorry, I have not got a scanner so aren't able to share it . |

Thanks, I am in the dealers this week as I have the P040D code investigated - but no adverse effects resulting from that code. I will ask them to have a look. |

I was told that one of my turbos has an oil weep, which the mod would address - that is the only way I know about it as no smoke. No warranty and apparently LR do not offer any assistance with cost, it is about 8 hours work, mine is to be checked in the spring for deterioration. It would be nice if LR would contribute, as it seems a design fault and not a cheap fix. Only Range Rovers since 1988 |

I knew about this problem when I was looking for a 4.4 TDV8 earlier this year so when I found the right car I managed to provoke the smoke problems on the test drive. The car was in a main dealer (non LR) and they agreed to get the mod done as part of the deal, they had no luck getting any help from the local LR dealer and had the job done at Team Valley Land Rover and I have a copy of the invoice for £948.44 inc VAT.
