The key blade stores in the side panel as they are designed to.

Actually getting the transponder out of the big key is remarkably easy. First remove the battery and click everything back together then place the whole fob, button side down, on a flat surface and lever each top corner up gently by using a thin bladed screwdriver or a knife prising the plastic against the metal. Actually you are separating the two outer plastic bits the metal surround is just something to lever against. When separated the transponder just lifts out. - I can do photos and add them to the thread if there's any interest (as I've got a dog to walk just now) later but it really is very simple. |

Did both my range keys and both my disco keys when I got them into the large cases. Dead easy. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Right here goes - first get the battery out the place the key face down (if you are incapable of taking the battery out don't do this at all |

Don't know about the smaller fob, I just did mine to put the old gubbins in a new case (same size) as the outer soft plastic was curling up. I prefer the chunkier look, probably because I see it every time I look in a mirror |
