Hiya , Looks like you have covered the loom side quite well, would it be an option to swap an injector and see if it moves the problem?

I have considered this , as I still have my other injector that was leaking back but ran ok. I have found a specialist diesel garage near me so I am going to get them do some diagnosis rather than dive straight in and change bit by bit , hit and miss |

Sounds like the typical td6 injector failure, many threads on here about it. '55 Java Black Vogue |

Mine had the same symptoms a couple of weeks ago, cured by replacing 2 injectors. 2004 Vogue TD6 - Remapped

I have changed No1 injector before and that did not require the inlet manifold removing.Question is , if I obtain a new injector and do it myself , do you require a new manifold gasket when rebuilding it all again ? Looking around for an injector , and if its listed for the BMW X5 the prices seem a lot less than if it says Range Rover in front of the description - especially on E bay anyway |

Not sure about the manifold gasket, due to lack of time, got a garage to do it. However as far as sourcing injectors, was given the heads up on here about Diesel Jones (P F Jones) in Manchester. Rebuilt injectors are £96 on an exchange basis. They delivered next day too. 2004 Vogue TD6 - Remapped

Not sure about rebuilt/refurbed injectors (I have my old one for refurbing). I can get a new one for 130 so to put an old one back in for 30 pound less , how much mileage before problems again ? Getting a warranty with them is fine but I would only want to do the job once Fortunately the Range Rover is not my everyday car (only did 1200 miles last year) , so If I do require a manifold gasket I can order one and wait for it to arrive as its not a VOR (vehicle off road) situation |

I have exactly that problem and you have described the symptoms to a tee, I had a knackered injector which was fine until you gave it some power then it shook. New injector cleared it up. |
