Currently looking for a 4.4 with the 8 speed box so this thread is interesting. Will be looking to buy from a reliable dealer with a good reputation. In Dorset but willing to go up to a 100 miles for the right car, ideally grey which weathers well here in the south. Has anyone bought from Vogues in Cambridge?

Are you going to trust it to Sheffield Prestige for the servicing or go main dealer given the "newness" ?

Started using them on your recommendation - all good so far

I did wonder that a few days ago. I've no complaints using them.

Well, I was due to collect it this morning but it's still at Land Rover having a front left solenoid replaced after the fault codes were read yesterday.

That's a bastid right enough, just when you're getting fevered up, at least she's getting some love & attention before you collect, sleepless night tonight!

It was going to be the start of last week, but I've now saved £1500 in interest by finding my own finance for the bit I'm borrowing to change, so between us, it's stretching out a bit. They have also fixed a slight oil leak and a ball joint that were mot advisories.

It would be good if that work includes fitting the revised secondary turbo drain pipe if its not already fitted. Its a lot of work and IMO far from a DIY job.

That's been done already according to land Rovers records. They are fitting a new front left solenoid which was flagging up errors. I think it's suspension related. They have fixed a slight oil leak and replaced a ball joint which were advisories on the mot. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Picked it up this morning and then had issues putting diesel in as I kept triggering the misfuel blocker thing. Seems you can't put the nozzle in as far as you could in the olden days !

It's pretty quick and drives nice bar vibration above about 65 which I recon is rear wheel balancing, as it's not through the steering wheel.

It's filthy under the bonnet and someone has previously smashed the drivers door mirror glass and stuck some plastic mirror stuff over it. Dealer is sending me a new mirror glass.

Engine and gearbox are really nice. Not set anything up yet on the car other than put some CDs in it.

I've just ordered the ctek adapter to charge it through the trailer socket.

I think given a few days cleaning work, it should be up to snuff.....

Very nice Mark. Ours started being fiddly with the diesel nozzle all of a sudden and I then clocked the yellow protector being visible. Turned out that sometime other than me

Had inadvertently inserted a petrol nozzle, activating the protector before thinking better of it (did it's job though... and months down the line she still denies it

Have you seen the wee yellow plastic tool in the spare wheel well to reset it/ I had a bit of a senior moment trying to get it to work and flick back said yellow protector but it did go back in and ever since, it will let us put the diesel nozzle in as far as needed/ just as you would expect with no hassle.

The yellow release thing was in the drivers door pocket, so I'm assuming it needs to be handy !

I've poked about a bit more tonight.... The smart key that works has a rubber bottom that keeps trying to drop off.... I have a nice looking spare smart key, that doesn't work. I've put a new battery in and tried the battery both sides up, but still no joy. Do you have to have the smart key coded to the car if it's not been used for ages ?

....and do the daytime running lights always come on ? Not seen mine....

....and can you get sat nav directions to show near the speedo etc ?

I also don't seem to have a tow hitch key.....

Best idea with the keys is to buy new covers you can replace the plastic/rubber shells on them for less than a tenner, Dan can get them.

Look at the new one for clues on how to get the old cover off just clips basically.

Start with the balancing but judder could be rear calipers sticking and overheating I think it is fairly common on the 4.4 too, mine had had new rear calipers, pads and discs despite only having done 34k..... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

yours looks similar spec to mine except colour....still you can't have everything

No daytime running lights as standard - but they can be switched on using one of those fancy diagnostic gizmos.

No sat nav direction I'm afraid on the binnacle only the touch screen & audio

Never had a problem with the fuel protection device. (except when I deliberately tried the wrong nozzle to make sure it worked) - my wife has form (more than once in the same week!!!) of putting petrol in diesel cars

yep - get the juddering sorted - I promise you , these cars are silky smooth at cruising once sorted.
