2011 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Buckingham Blue

Just Bought A 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE - few queries

Hi,

I've just paid a deposit on a 2011 TDV8 which should be quite a jump from the 2003 TD6.

So, it has the 8 speed gearbox and no gear lever - does it go into neutral when you stop at lights etc, or do you have to keep using the knob ?

Does it actually play physical CDs or are they all done from a hard disk now ?

Some have like a silver grey grille and the silver horizontal bar between the front fogs.... Some are just black. What does that signify ?

I have no info on it really - I know it's got a start button and an electric handbrake, neither of which I've used before. Does the handbrake disengage automatically ?

Is the stereo any good ?

2012 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Santorini Black

The dial works the same as a lever in that it will stay where you leave it i.e. in Drive at the lights.

The park brake is automatic off, manual on via the silver lever near the left elbow.

Think the horizontal bar is a styling addition…have seen them for sale on Ebay.

That's all I can help with (and hope I am right about) as I only picked mine up a week ago.

sounds like a nice FF sir..

pretty sure black bar is the 2010/11 style....in late 2011 (61 reg) they changed to silver...

knob same as lever where it stays in gear until you select neutral.. ... - .- -.

The knob is not quite the same as the lever - for a start, you have to wait a few seconds after starting the engine before you can select drive - but the trade off the other way is just press the stop button & it will put itself into park - no need to dial that

Not too sure on the L322, but on the L405, various bits of trim are black on the Vogue, but silver on the VSE

Stereo - there are different variants - so depends which one you have, but don't think there is a particularly bad option

Should do physical CD's

Thanks chaps. It was that or an Audi RS6 with 572bhp......

I know some of the more modern autos will go into neutral on their own when stationary, even if selector is D. Just wondered if the rr did this.

I really will have to spend an hour or so reading the manuals....

For 11MY, 11.5MY and 12MY (pre-Westminster) only Autobiographies came as standard with plated splitter bars and fog light surrounds. All the Westminsters had them (and they do seem a popular thing to change).

That's very nice MJD.

It should have a cd changer in the glove box.

It WILL be a bit of a jump form a td6.

Excellent colour choice!

The rotary knob takes a bit of getting used to but is pretty good after you get used to it. And as said the hand brake is automatic release, just drive off.

When do you collect? There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammerðŸ˜œðŸ˜œ

Not got a date yet. Paid deposit yesterday. I'd imagine first or second week of Jan.

Not actually seen it in the flesh, but dealer has said I can have deposit back if I don't like it, but I can't see that happening......

Are there 19 speakers ?

Quite possibly - it looks from the interior photo that the speakers have the HK Logic 7 badges on them - hard to be certain though.

Gearbox will slip into semi-neutral (about 30% drive) when brake is pressed.

They all have Harman Kardon Logic 7 - think the 1200W has "Logic 7 HD" on the grilles.

It's better than what you've got, but I don't like the Logic 7 processing much (you can turn it off). Bass makes the doors vibrate a bit too - not the best, but certainly not terrible.
