Hi Riverstick, I've been reading this with great interest, last year I posed the question can you fit the Bi Turbo setup, didn't really get the answer other than the tranny would eat it's self. Now, thanks to you, I'm a wee bit wiser

miggit at its lowest point Land Rover managed to extract 113 hp from the Buick V8 , rumored to be as low as 90 hp in some markets

So what are the differences between the 2002 ffrr and the X5 engines other than the engine map. Surely it's a case of finding the highest output X5 with the GM box, changing cam / injectors / turbo to match and uploading the engine map ? Then you'd be in the 225 Hp region that we want to be, if not higher Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

They tend to want more bottom end torque....... For off road, as Craig suggests.

Craig, I take that comment as an insult, considering that you have twice the power that my beemer tractor has

Also following this with great interest. You inspired me to buy a €6000 project just recently. Ive read your thread about 5 times now. Id like to get mine remapped and try out the Eduard gearbox ECU mod. I dont like the way my TD6 is always hunting for gears and reving needlessly. Its up and down like a yo-yo knickered tart on the back roads around here. For a luxury vehicle I wasnt expecting all this fuss and drama, I just expected it to waft along serenely. Anyway excellent thread. I look forward to your updates. |
