Just drove up to London. Rubbish audio quality from all sources. But the sat nav voice has great quality. Deep base and full tone even on low volume. Very frustrating. Any ideas? 2012 5.0L S/C

I have the L7 setup and have to turn down the sub otherwise various bits of interior trim resonate in time to the music. |

This just doesn't make sense. My 2010 5.0 SC has a brilliant sound system. I have to turn the bass/sub down a lot otherwise it is too much. It should be identical to your system as mine was in the 2010-2012 range and also has the premium sound system.

That's what I said to the dealer. They checked it out, they said, and supposedly did a software update. It was a bit better. When on high volume it's ok but low down there's nothing. My workaround is to skew the fader to the back and turn up the volume. No good if anyone else is in the car as it's too loud at the back but allows fuller sound up front. Still not happy - I'll raise it with the dealer again next time it's in. 2012 5.0L S/C

I know this is an old thread, but I have the same issue happening. Did you ever work it out? |

No. That was the best I could do. Eventually sold the vehicle . Not because of the sound system just couldn't justify a 5L supercharged anymore. |

Maybe someone has wired something in over time, try and short the aux input (use an old 3.5mm jack and just cut off the wires...). Then plug it in the rear aux input.

Thanks mate. I appreciate you coming back on to let me know. I’ve replaced the amp, and directed my dealership to fix it without regard to expense but we are all out of ideas. They think I’m crazy. |

I am willing to replace the speakers from a 2010 or older but I don’t want to create more problems.. 2012 Range Rover HSE | 2011 Range Rover Autobiography | 2010 Range Rover Sport Supercharged

Crazy for what? The problem you hear? Or letting them fix it without regard to expense? With the latter I can agree, dealer don't tend to be great at trouble shooting or repair, in my experience they tend to just swap parts. Have you or them done the basics and used an SPL meter to verify what you are hearing? As I mentioned already, if the Satnam instructions sound good and full then I suspect something is interfering with your aux signal...I wouldn't swap out anymore parts... |

SPL stands for 'sound pressure level'

You can also buy fairly cheaply a calibrated microphone and frequency analyser to see what areas of the sound are missing. A sound pressure meter won't give you anything but the dB reading. Lack of bass can be caused by speakers wired 'our of phase'. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |
