Think suspension pump is overworking?

Got that annoying 'wife is hoovering constantly', feeling when in the RR lately. No faults just a bad feeling. RR had rear hit end stops about a month ago when on M6 local garage just reset it and jacked back end up and pump worked OK. Any ideas?

Sounds like a leak somewhere, out with the water and washing up liquid in a spray bottle and check for leaks, the bags are the first thing to check, raise to off road height to reveal more bag first...

If you need new ones best to go with Delphi, the Dunlops don't seem to last very long...

Last time I looked Island 4x4 were the cheapest... Pete

+1 I thought I had a faulty suspension compressor actually it was a slow leak on an air bag. Which my halfords jack helpfully found for me by dropping the car hard enough to turn a slow leak into a dirty big hiss!

Can try to grab the wheel arch and lift with your legs to hear if you can hear a hissing, and as above the bubbles are a solid idea to check pipes and joints etc.

I also got the Delphi OEM bags and they were great.

Best of luck!

Thumbs Up

Cannot find a leak. The car always stay up so surely a leak would result in that corner going down?
Been to London and back fault free with the exception of needing the start charge in underground car park!
I noted that the ride is also too hard. Pressure switch, valve?

Thanks for help so far..

Get the codes read then, there could be some faults stored without it putting a light on..

As for hard suspension, I would imagine that is something else other than the air system, more air = higher suspension, not harder ride.... Pete

Some times leaks get closed by the bag folding down as the air escapes , then when you start up again the bag inflates and starts to leak Sad 2008 MY Supercharged

Tried to reset air suspension inactive with a cheap obd tool it would not clear or reset on steering recal and found no codes.
with back end on stops noted the annoying hoover noise was still there. Which is strange as suspension compressor is definately not running. Maybe something else is making the noise sound coming from underneath body.

Think the noise is the new fuel pump fitted 2 week ago Big Cry Checked ht level links and lubed. Finally fedex found me with Gap tool, but soon realised you need a perfect working LCD Matrix to unlock it Rolling with laughter Still stranded at bottom of hill with back end down.
