The difference in laden weights I quoted was provided by LR. I've driven both extensively. Once driving the 4.4 with a 3.0 close behind, and the 3.0 couldn't maintain sufficient stability to keep up round the corners due to the lack of adaptive dynamics. While the 405 has much better performance and refinement and looks more modern, in addition to the 322 advantages already identified:

Apparently 16MY cars are getting revised heating controls so you can turn on the heated seats without messing with the screen menus. |
