£1 a mile depreciation? That is about what I have had on my 2012 WM since June 2013. When I could set part of the depreciation on my cars against tax the rate used was 25% pa on the reducing balance and that seemed about right for Range Rovers and maybe will be again.

I agree with Scuddriver that a good late 322 is better value than a 405 just now - some of the cheaper AU 405s are pretty scruffy and buying new with the same engine looks like at least £50,000 on top of the 322. Only Range Rovers since 1988

Pre 16 they were controlled through the infotainment system, which is a little slow to start up. Later models could also be controlled via modified temperature control knobs.

Not a bigi, but a can be a bit of a pain on cold mornings.

well...seat heating...is basically pushing one button...and then another one to switch it on. Not really a lot of work to be done. But yes, only one button to push would be 50% less.... Regards, Alex

abuss, I don't think it's the fact that seat heating is adjusted in two steps but the mild frustration is that the first step can only happen after 1 to 2 minutes from start-up. With the later models I believe that it's instant.

Yes, seat heating/cooling on mine is instant as is incorporated into the Climate Control dials. That said, everything else can take an age to load up as my InControl Touch Pro takes anywhere from 30secs - 4mins to boot up fully. Paul

that sounds strange.....mine is June 2013 and the system, although being slow in general , is ready after i backed out of my car park as soon as the rear camera switches off.....

Mine's December 2014 (MY2015) and it's been like this as long as I have had it (5 months now) but I wasn't at all surprised as we had a 2014 loaner for a weekend a couple of years ago and we remember it being very similar. I get out of the drive, round two bends and halfway down the road before I have a chance of getting the seat heat/cool/massage window to appear.

I'm now interested to know what others experience.

No rhyme or reason to mine acting the way it is. Sometimes it's good to go within just a few seconds, however it's taken as long as 4mins to boot up before now. That said, the cameras oddly enough work from the off regardless of the rest of the infotainment having booted up. Paul

I really don't understand the fuss about this - surely this not your problem but the problem for the chauffeur to deal with ? Rolling Eyes

The L322 looked great for its time, but the L405 is in a complete different league ride wise and looks even better.
L405 all the way and hopefully with Velar-ish dashboard in MY2018 Wink RR's that are part of my car timeline since I bought my first RR Classic in 1999:

I still think the L322 looks better and more purposeful. I'm not convinced the L405 has the same presence of the L322 and the controls ( buttons etc ) are less rugged. I loved the ones in my 2007 and felt my 2011 ones were a bit too ' gentrified '. The 2015 much more so and it could be any exec type car, controls wise.

The L405 does have more solidly closing doors , which is nice, and its an improvement in handling. My 2011s stability control was forever kicking in during spirited cornering but my 2015 needs a fair bit more encouragement to activate.

I didn't really feel it was a huge step forward but definitely a progression in many ways. Mines a 2015 so maybe the latest ones are a big step up again. As i have said in numerous posts i would be more than happy with a 3.6 L322 and the only reason i changed from my 2011 VSE was because of mileage. About 15 years off retirement but would love a mint 2011/2012 for when work mileage wouldn't be an issue. Saying that , by then they will be sought after classics.

As for the title of this thread then yes , i do regret it in a few ways but maybe thats because im an old lad now and change doesn't always sit well. I know others won't agree and that's everyones prerogative.

All the above is just my humble opinion. 2015 4.4 AB

I've watched this thread with interest and was hesitant about the new model, but after one month of my year old L405, I can honestly say that I'm super impressed.

I've owned new Porsche and Audi (as well as my previous L322) in the past and the quality is genuinely up there, and a clear step up over the L322. Yes, the sat nav is woeful, but it's the only real negative I can think of.

Sorry you've had such a bad experience, but hopefully you'll be back!

Get the smart phone update and use waze in car play? Nothing better for sat nav? --
