I own both and I feel like the L322 is an 'easier' car to drive. The L405 feels more special, almost Bentley-ish, but it also feels bigger and less direct than my L322. Maybe it's because I've only done 15k km in the L405 and more than 100k in the L322.

I also find the ride of the L405 very hard compared to the L322, driving a L405 on 22 inch and the 322 on 20 inch. '17 Range Rover 5.0 Supercharged AB (Sold)

If you put your L405 on 20" wheels it will travel in total comfort compared to the harsh ride of the 22" wheels Wink RR's that are part of my car timeline since I bought my first RR Classic in 1999:

I'm sure it will but I'm a sucker for the looks of a car, and 20 inch on the L405 just looks horrible Embarassed Embarassed '17 Range Rover 5.0 Supercharged AB (Sold)

21” Are a decent compromise. Still feel mine rides slightly More harshly than my 322. Certainly clatters slightly more over broken surfaces and country lanes. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

This is already my 4th L405 and apart from one MY13 they were all low mileage cars, and they ALL clatter on the front suspension + the interiors crack a little bit when driving on bad roads. My L322 with 200k km doesn't do that at all. '17 Range Rover 5.0 Supercharged AB (Sold)

I'm looking to change my late L322 for a L405. Plenty of useful info here, thanks

I got my car new last year and I too find the front suspension noisier than the L322's! I only changed the bushes once on the old one and it didn't clonk like this even when they were worn! If I got the L405 second hand, I would have thought it had a problem!
Also agree on the interior cracks, some come from the passenger seat headrest...

Interesting👍🏻.

Thought it might just be me..... anyway I did the ARB bushes and droppers and aparently it’s already had new lower arms on it, (probably trying to fix the knock caused by the ARB bushes) as pointed out to me by the dealer in the health check video when it went in for some remedial.

On a smooth road I think the 405 is better than the 322, but on the Lane to my house the 322 and my D4 are noticeably quieter!

I also miss the Redness of my 322.... stood out as a bit different.... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

No regrets moving from a 2004 L322 V8 petrol with LPG to a 2013 L405 TDV8.

The L405 is in a totally different class. More sophisticated in every way.

Only downside is the higher price. Having said that, I bought my L405 with 104k for £20k, and IMHO it is a better deal than a 2012 L322 with 65k for similar money. Current:

I have kept the old L322 TD6 as values are depressed. All I can say is they may as well be two different manufacturers!
Nothing is the same!
One is a lady of the night and the 405 is a high class escort!

Will probably keep both as I think they are both addictive and both could steal the wallet!

i got a late 2012 TDV8 L322 and compared to the early TD6 L322 i had i thought it was a different car. I was assuming the move from a L322 to the L405 would be the same? Not had a drive in the L405 yet so cannot comment.
Don't think i will be making the change any time soon as i love the L322.
i am hoping all the preventative maintenance i am currently working through will give me a good 100k worth of driving. 2012 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 - Current
