2009-2012 4.4L L iPhone cable and iPhone 6 compatibility

I would like to connect my iPhone 6 to my 2012 L322.

L322 came with the iPhone and usb plugs in the cubby box.

I would like to use the full fonctionnality with steering wheel buttons, but there is not yet a dedicated cable it seems. So I wanted to use a Jaguar/LR cable for Iphone 4 & 4S then add an adaptor for the new iPhone 5S/6 plug.

Did anyone try this already as it may not work by simply using an adaptor.

here are the said parts :

JLR type cable (for Iphone 4/4S):
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rover-JAGUA...1e973ee571

Would I then need this :
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Charger-Data-Ada...2a490a2c56

or this with audio jack?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/iPhone-4-to-iPho...2edaaf9483

or even this
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/White-Cable-30-p...2c7e929c9d

The plan is to have the iPhone 6 handy by the cup holder or dedicated holder, not simply in the cubby box once plugged. I need apps handy while in the car.

If there are alternative to use the iPhone music (stocked or streamed) say via bluetooth, please let me know. I would then simply run a hidden USB cable from the cubby box and only plug the iPhone 6 to it then Bluetooth music.

thanks l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

Apple do a gen 30 pin to lightening adaptor, the problem is the 5 and 6 only output digital stream from the plug on the bottom, so the El cheapo adapters don't have a dac built in hence the 3.5mm jack built in to the cheaper ones. The cheaper ones only function as a data cable adaptor, whether the lr cable takes a digital stream I'm not sure tbh but a fully functional adaptor would be preferable.

Pretty sure using the gen apple adaptor on the end of the LR cable would give the same functionality as with older 30 pin equipped phones. They cost around £25, from Apple Store.

Has this found a solution?

2012 FFR with connectivit pack and Iphone6

Charges via usb cable but no music through there.

I am still missing the genuine Ipod cable, but I guess this would be a 30 pin nit a lightening connector?
What would the correct part number be please?

Can I stream the music by some means? Wireless does not seem to be an option for the cars system?

Phone functionality works fine.

Thanks for input
Regards
Heppsen

Andy, how does it work in relation to the Phone? Do you need to plug one of the boxes into the car & one into the phone? Or does the phone just stream to the one box plugged into the car?

Hi Craig,

Using an I-Phone 4 lead from the USB port in the cubby, just plug the Tune2Air in. Pair it with the I-Phone using '0000' and Bob's yer Aunty! Gives you easy access to your phones entire music library. Thumbs Up

Cheers,

Andy. SDV8 AB MY 2019

I also use this Tune2Air from Amazon. It works perfectly and in parallel to the Handsfree Calling functions.

I have successfully connect my old Ipod Nano to the genuine cable and it works fine.
Does not show album names at present, but I will figure that out later on.
At this time I just enjoy having the music connected up to the 1200W HD system.

Will try and get one of the bluetooth thingies for the phone.

Thx in advance....
