Battery voltage, stall and other gremlins..

Hello,

Every now and then, the car will stall when driving off (even if the car is "hot") and sometime end up in limp home which would clear after turning the engine off for 15minutes or so.

I understand from going through the forum that the battery could be a culprit and have been monitoring the voltage through the "secret" code on the gps screen... But I was wondering how reliable it is as the voltage has been hovering between 14.0 to 14.5 ....

As, can someone confirm that a standard voltage should be 14.5 when the engine is running?

Thank you! Range Rover Vogue ‘17 TDV6

Yes it should be around there BUT, i suspect thats your alternator output rather than the battery output so, does NOT tell you the condition of the battery sir... Whistle

On a previous RR when I had alternator trouble, the voltage spiked and caused the transmission to shunt, the dial stopped working, lights wouldn't work, but the engine did not stall. Discovery 4 HSE

Hi,
I have similar 4.4 TDV8 like you. Recently installed the Ctek comfort indicator on the battery, which shows the battery voltage through a flashing led. green, amber or red. In almost all cases (when parked) it flashes red, what is meaning voltage is bellow 12,4V... Although I do not have any other problems with the battery, it runs great, but a few hours after my weekly charging it returns to red again... 4.4 TDV8 Vogue Buckingham Blue MY12

Went to my local Range Rover dealer after having the small repair shop reading the faults to me. The main dealer technician had a look at the car and said that its the dpf causing all the issue. Asked me to go for a good 1/2 hour drive on the highway to clean it up and hopefully, most issues should be fine. If not, I should book it in for inspection. Range Rover Vogue ‘17 TDV6
