Not today yesterday fitted replacement nearside headlight unit. Very expensive but got avery good deal from the parts guy I know in the local LR Dealer.

Sorted out nearside front brake back plate. The holes had rusted and it was rattling away enough to drive me mad. Some large washers sorted it  John

Fitted another FSR to the heating / ventilation system, it's becoming a yearly event, hopefully fitting a genuine part it'll last a bit longer.

Bought a set of 22" Stormers in black/machined face to go on my Alaska White.

Nothing....

Instead I had a worry free (of anything breaking) 230 mile drive up from Southampton, with better technology and at an average of 50mpg rather than 28mpg - okay, not as nice a place to be, but SWMBO's VW is a superb car

My Vw golf gti mk 5 was constantly breaking ! I did love that car when I had it but got fed up with things going wrong. The mk5 was suprisingly unreliable electronics, rust, engine used oil and constant abs issues !

on arrival greeted with "the mechanics been driving it around to see if its ok now"

so a simple question from me "did you change the rear caliper?"

I'm still not too sure what was done but no new caliper, some thing about pads so new pads, parking brake, open up the computer and sorting the teeth - "i speak english to help you, it's not so good eh but pay 384.03 now and i send bill later".

Oh to return back to living in the UK [i know tinted glasses and all that]

New 22" stormers and toyo proxies fitted this morning,well chuffed.

Finally got the time to empty the rubbish out after the ski trip!

Oh and I washed the salt off.  There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Yesterday / day before towed a speed boat hull down from Surrey to Wales. Then did some proper jobs in it...

Emptied boat, collected hurdles from around the farm and then arranged them ready for lambing. Went down into one of the fields to collect the hay rack and move it to the next field.

Chickened out of taking it down a 1 in 4 slope on a what appeared to be dry but greasy underneath surface. If there had been more than an 8ft run off I might have risked trying out the HDC but a 400ft descent with greasy conditions and no run-off could have been expensive...  Ed

Had an EGR exhaust gas sensor changed at my local dealer today. 5 1/2hrs to do a 0.9hr chargable job
