Mine's the same. A few weeks ago I had the whole lot apart because none of it worked. I fitted a new non return valve hoping it would help but its just the same - it takes a whole wash cycle to prime it

From what I can make out.. A swift push forward on the stalk, and release to start the cycle, it then pumps some water out before moving the wiper (in theory).

The small non return valve in the upper tailgate which fails, only a couple of quids, when it's gone it allows the water to drain back to the reservoir so it has to be pumped all the way back hence the delay.

Couple of weeks ago purchase my first l322 (2006 sc, upgrade from the p38 that eventually died) and my rear wash is also the same, pump runs but only get a dribble of water, I think the non return valve may be stuck, can someone tell me the location and how to get to it before I start stripping the wrong bits! Thanks |

Maxmax, mine was blocked up with sediment in the transfer tube - this is fairly common. I managed to clean it out without removing the rear wiper motor just by removing the rear wiper arm and poking some wire down the hole (the transfer tube). Standby for the squirt of filthy water when it goes - it got me a treat.... I was then a bit unlucky in that once flowing it leaked - another common issue but look in the wiki for how to change the little seal if that happens

I thought this may have been cause of leak into the boot for me a faulty non-return valve of bad pipe ,but it seems to be the black 90* turrit on the bottom of the wiper motor housing .... It must be some back pressure pushing water back out of this plastic turrit ..... 57 - Silver TDV8 VSE loaded
