Agreed, but the torque delivery of the diesel does make for relaxed progress.

New Zealand 2010 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Galway Green

The whine of the supercharger on the 4.2 was a bit "whiny" and didn't sound like something that worked well. It sounded like something running out of steam. I don't mind the sound being gone but I didn't mind it either, I just like the engine of the 5.0 SC a lot more than the 4.2 especially because it got so much more powerfull but is so extremely quiet.

The FFRR is NOT a loud barking sporty car, at least not for me, to me they found the perfect balance in the 5.0 SC L322 final years 2010 to 2013. I like it better than any of the other Range Rovers with the Classic being a good second. Third would be the L405 and last the P38 but to be honest, I would like to have them all in my garage preferably in the big petrol versions with SC where possible.

Plus a fifth that is completely converted into an Overlander, based on the L322 with every little bit that is needed for really tough overlanding duties. I hope that one day I can start building it while driving my current 5.0 as the daily driver Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

No Andy, it is the later 3.6 TDV8, 6 speed one (ZF 6HP24), not the 5 speed you have on the Td6. l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

The ZF 6HP26 as found in many many cars worldwide, including my lovely 4.2 SC, has one issue that could crop up (apparently it doesn't happen a lot because it was very very hard to find out what was wrong with mine at the time) after a number of years. I'm hoping/expecting that with the ZF 6HP28 as found in the 5.0 that all problems are sorted. Not that the problem was big, just replacing one solenoid and that was it. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

ah so i have a 5 speed, thats makes sense so the 3.6 tdv8 and the 5.0 get the extra gear? is the top gear "longer" for motorway cruising?

Andy, you have the GM gearbox which covered the L322 Diesel/ 5Spd GM – 2002MY to 2006MY (UK 2002 plate to 2006 plate) = BMW3.0 TD6 engine using the GM 5L40-E, 5 Speed automatic gearbox.

Apologies if this goes OT OP.

Thumbs Up
