Very odd this is a 2008 4.2SC interior:

Normal seats no stitched dash etc.

my point is that the 5.0 is not 'all that'....it is a very nice vehicle with the new digital dash but other things are available on the 4.2.

as for performance , the 5.0 goes from 0-60 in one second faster and does an extra 10 mph on top speed ...it doesnt handle any better than the 4.2 ....

i could have a 2010/12 facelift on mine and it would the same as a 5.0...

so i cant see how you can say it feels more luxurious and more expensive than a 4.2...

its not just you Gary but also others that keep going on that the 5.0 is the best thing since sliced bread, it is good but then so is the td6,4.4 petrol and all the rest...

and being a mod isnt going to stop me from having an opinion..

And Stan, you should not ever stop having an opinion as your moderations are great Thumbs Up It is not about top speed or acceleration, but the 5.0 S/C is the end of line for the final L322 and many of the issues from the earlier issues have been sorted. I have had the 4.2 and I am lucky to now have a 5.0. It is a different experience as Gaz mentions and if you can justify the expense, get one! There is a significant difference. Sandy there's no such thing as a L405 Sport, the new Sport is L494.

Whoever said it has more up to date tech is right.
Even my daughter said "so you can chose between a memory stick full of music, your iPod full of music, your iPhone full of music, a hard disk full of music, your multiplay CD player, DAB radio, TV. FM Radio etc etc."

However she didn't like my 60s/70s/80s compilations (my music of choice) or Pop Quiz with Ken Bruce (where I always score at least mid twenties).

You can take the boy out of the 60s/70s/80s but you can't take the 60s/70s/80s out of the man Thumbs Up Geoff

I reckon Stan's 4.2 must be one of the very last, with the newer interior, aside from the steering wheel and dash TFT, the rest looks the same. OK, it doesn't have the leather headlining, but that's one nice interior Thumbs Up

Again this is the 2007-09 4.2 SC Vogue SE interior (Land Rover Used Pictures):

All references in my posts are comparing this dated 2007-9 4.2SC interior with the 5.0 AB interior.

There must have been a few late cars lefty the factory with the 2010+ seats & interior. Odd that Stan's is 2008 though perhaps it was retro - fitted.*

* Further research shows that the late 2009MY NON exterior Facelift has the 2010+ seats and revised Vogue Se/AB trim. Stan has one of these cars which is why he could not see a big difference to the 5.0 interior. Idea

Or perhaps it was a last of 2008 off the line or was some kind of test bed as the infotainment can't be upgraded without a major overhaul of the interior and some wiring changes as the systems are very different. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Its actually because Stan owns a 4.2 SC Autobiography not a 4.2 SC Vogue SE like most folk..... Shocked

Did you know that Stan? (I checked your plate on our system)

Again we were all comparing the 2007-2009 4.2 SC Vogue SE NOT the rare 2008-2009 4.2 SC AUTOBIOGRAPHY.

So the 2008/9 4.2 SC Autobiography interior is very similar to the 2009+ 5.0 SC Autobiography - solved.

PS: If you have the 2008/09 4.2 SC Autobiography all you need is 2012 facelift and you have a proper lookey likey apart from the leather headlining and revised dash.

PPS: Stan's AB is worth £1000 more than the equivalent Vogue SE.
