Help

OK Ziggys been playing again with the lectricity gizmo

Now I have a list of Land Rover Fault codes that are like this

P2736 Pressure control solenoid F control - circuit open
P2737 Pressure control solenoid F control - circuit range/performance
P2738 Pressure control solenoid F control - circuit low
P2739 Pressure control solenoid F control - circuit high
P2742 Transmission fluid temperature sensor B - circuit low input
P2743 Transmission fluid temperature sensor B - circuit high input
P2757 Torque converter clutch pressure control solenoid - control circuit performance or stuck off

Now when I read the IID BT thingey they display like this

ECM-Engine (DDE4)

1/3 0x3505
UNknown

2/3 0x0480
Unknown

3/3 0x0404
Unknown

So my question is how do you relate the codes from the IID BT to the printed list of Land Rover fault codes

I tell you what life was a lot simpler when all you needed was a hammer and a shifter............

Functionality over usb

Hi - apologies if this is already covered in the thread, haven't really got time to read it all!

I want to buy a IID tool, I think the basic (non bluetooth) version will be fine for me however my dash display pixels are a mess so I will need to use the USB connection and a laptop instead.

So my question is - is the functionality over the USB connection (to a Windows PC) the same as what would normally be available via the built in display/cruise control buttons?

If not, and I need to step up to the bluetooth version, does that give the same functionality from the connected device (I have an ipad I can use) as you get from the built in display/cruise control buttons?

The immediate need I have is to investigate why my windscreen wipers and central locking have stopped working following a battery replacement, suspect it is to do with the BCU so I need to be able to see any codes on that and reset if necessary. Can I do this via USB?

TIA for your help

Cheers

Jerry

I have the bluetooth version and it does everything the others do. I am happy that I got it as it is very user friendly. You can still use the dash display but, to me, it emphasises the convenience of using the iPad. Your iPad needs to be 3 or later.

Sorry cannot help with the PC interface.

From your earlier posts you must be very close to me.

PS. Mine is VIN locked to my TD6 but if you want to have a look at the fault codes that are not locked then you are welcome. John

Bluetooth version, every time Thumbs Up

The IOS app is incredible in what it can display over and above the non-BT version, as well as being more user friendly Thumbs Up

Short answer: yes. But the USB / Laptop interface is much less convenient to use. And, the big difference between the IIDTool and the IIDTool BT is that he IIDTool BT has much more memory, meaning that we can upload the firmware for all Land Rover models we cover to one tool - in effect the VIN-lock-free functionality giving you the equivalent of a Hawkeye Pro or Lynx Pro at 1/3 the price. The regular non-BT IIDTool only has enough memory for one model line - so the VIN-lock-free functions are only avail for that model (2002-04 L322 or 06-09 or D3 or D4, etc).

Steve, quick one, just got my iid. bt

All updated and had a play but can't find any thing on it about the fbh. I think its locked out but can't find anything in the menu at all.

Says in the manual that the 2010 should be able to be accessed. I want to prime it and test run it.

Any thoughts??

Cheers, Steve.

FBH is named Auxiliary Heater. Are you checking for the right module?

Also, if there are no codes stored, it won't show up in the faults list Thumbs Up

Should be in the CCF.

Steve, Can't you test run in it on the touch screen? John

Merry crimbles,

No it won't run at all, just blows the fans, the remote won't run it either. Ive looked through all the menus and no mention of it at all.

It was there before i updated to the latest software but still didn't have the option to purge or test run.

My old disco 3 had it when using the iid. It was also locked out and just needed purging. That was my hope for this one also.

Cheers. Steve

Hello!

What kind of information can the IIDtool read from the ZF5HP24 gearbox in 2002-2005 models ?

On the website it only says "from v2.17" .. not that specific Smile

Hi Jack, I’ve only used the updater on a Win7 PC – I would guess that it should work on Win 10 as well. Most Win7 or 8 applications should work fine on Win 10.

I really like the IID BT tool – but there are some strange behaviors I’ve observed. One of these are described below – I do not know if it’s the tool or the BCU/ECUs that causes this, however…:

Most fault messages read through the IID tool displays the correct km reading as part of the fault description, e.g. “B1154-98 (28 ) Driver's seat backrest - Component failure - component or system is over temperature ( at 158230 km )”, “U0401-94 (68 ) Invalid data received from engine control module/powertrain control module - Component failure - unexpected operation ( at 158202 km )” and “U0073-88 (28 ) Control module communication bus off - Bus signal/message failure - bus is off ( at 158334 km )”.

But some messages have an incorrect km reading in the description; “FLM-HeadLight * U1A38-87 (28 ) Communication malfunction of left actuator - Bus signal/message failure - missing a message ( at 16777215 km )” and “RCM-Airbag *U0155-00 (28 ) Lost communication with instrument cluster control module ( at 16777215 km )” and “TEL-Cell Phone *U0029-68 (FD) Vehicle communication bus A performance - Algorithm based failure - event information ( at 16777215 km )”.

16777215 km – that is 16.7 million kms – 10.4 million miles! That is over 5100 km each single day of its life, meaning that the ffrr must have been pushed to go over 220 km/h continuously 24x7 since it was new… So the question is: Where does this strange 16777215 km reading come from Confused ?
