Good to know Thumbs Up So going back to the original question would you class Fuchs Titan fully synth from opie and Bearmach filters Very cheap low quality items not fit for purpose?

In my book 'very cheap parts' and 'low quality' = crap.. So YES you did imply that.

That's because only parts in a LR box have your seal of approval and everything else is 'cheap crap'

Thanks for your advice though I'll remember that the Land Rover guy advised me not to use 'cheap crap' Fuchs oil when I'm pouring it into my cosworth rs500 engine

Think you need to find a new parts supplier. You can buy a whole OEM filter kit for less than that Laughing

Air, oil, fuel, pollen and breather filter all included

So your an expert on cosworths now too? Fuchs oils have been in my cosworth running over 500hp since the engine was built over 15k miles ago (changed every 3k miles or after each track day) and used on track with extreme temps not in some 4x4 tractor where the td6 engine is hardly a race engine now is it Rolling Eyes so I think it's safe to say I have faith that my Land Rover engine isn't going to go pop just yet due to me using inferior parts Rolling Eyes

So you own a 500 then? Going on the 'genuine is the best theory' Ford motorcraft oil is the last thing you would be putting into a cosworth engine so don't be fooled into thinking oe is always the best because it isn't.

All in all you can say its difficult to find "THE" best oil. It depends of your driving style and usage like daily driver, race trim, short trips etc. But a good 5W-50 full synth is a good allround oil for all seasons IMO.
