Graeme That is a bit more than a "sweeping generalisation". I am a Scot but without a vote as I live in France. I know people on both sides and to tar the Yes voters with a description such as in your post is, I am sorry to say, ridiculous. Perhaps, but it is somewhat dismissive and I also have had conversations with both sides with people who don't fall into the description. John

Whilst you may not agree with the way Contraband put it I have to support him and say he is correct.

Have to say I am with Weegie on this one branding half the nation as dimwitted neds just because they wish to vote YES is not only wrong but is hugely disrespectful. There are many highly educated highly articulate Scots that support independence and can give good supporting reasons why they do. Personally I am still undecided perhaps swaying towards the NO side but I absolutely do respect the opinions of those that have a different opinion to me, class and background just doesn't come into it. Also to say that all the " Council House " lowlifes will be voting YES , I know quite a lot of folk in "Council House " estates that are voting NO .... And I also know folk who stay in F K off Houses and have their own companies and are voting YES ....

I'm for yes, it has nothing to do with old past bickering, I believe Scotland has the ability and finances to be independent. The union was fine but in modern times it hasn't worked fairly on either side.

I still agree with GraemeC's original comment.. people are being promised things will be better under independence and there is nothing to back up any of the claims. Just listen to the yes crowds on the telly shouting down the NO talkers.
