Snap, I tried this chap and he knackered the blade today so went to my mate near me who was away at the time and hes seen it and said he's cut it too wide and needs blank but looking through his key book you can get a mini key that can do it you just need to mod the end to fit in the flip, just a bit of filing to fit in the gap if anyone else needs to get one, he told me £15 supply and cut so will pick it up next week as no delivery till Monday now _____________________________________________________

A bit fed up now, had another key cut looks spot on opens door as does the other key i had cut in the drivers door lock but no joy in the car ignition barrel but when i used the old key the solenoid is clicking around the when i hold the key flat above the ignition barrel slot as it should but not on the new flip key, the flip will open doors and lock all so it must be synced right? but if i hold it over the ignition barrel slot in car like the other one theres no clicking so you cant turn to start, anyone have an idea whats the problem possibly?? _____________________________________________________

Hi Scottyav You definitly have to move the transponder from the old key into the new one but before you do that check if the new key can turn in the ignition to be safe place you're old key next to the ignition lock so it activates the solenoid what is crustal to the key cut is the lengt of the cut if this is not exactly it will not turn the ignition because that lock is a lot more accurat than the door lock.

if i thought this would be hassle id have not bothered tbh,if i put the fob close its hit or miss if i can turn the key, not sure if both blanks are cut spot on by looking tbh but looks like im going to sell the fob had enough messing about now and throwing cash down the pan. _____________________________________________________

I wish someone had told me in the original key theres a small piece of carbon looking block its that what has to be swapped to the new key inside and hey presto its starting perfect _____________________________________________________
