PLEASE READ from daveo's post i guess you only have to ask Rolling Eyes Whistle

OK the keys will start going out, as stated it will be standard post, if you want anything quicker than you will have to pay the difference. For those of you abroad I will check and get back with some prices.
WARNING, when you start your car with the key make sure the transponder is with the key, don’t be tempted to just test it with the chip next to the key, as when the car rolls the security code if the chip is not in distance it will not be updated with the new code, this happens each time you start the car, do not introduce both chips to the car as this can also cause problems and lock the EWS and then your car will not start even with the original key.
Step 1...first thing is you need to make sure you can sync the key,
http://s266.photobucket.com/user/daveo1000...2544040538
procedure; all remote handsets for use with the vehicle must be initialised.
Initialisation Procedure
1 Ensure the vehicle is unlocked and the driver and front passenger doors are closed.
2 Install a key/remote handset in the ignition switch, and then turn the ignition switch to position me and back to position
0 in less than 5 seconds to put the BCU into the initialisation mode. Continue the procedure within 30 seconds
of turning the ignition switch to position 0.
3 Remove the key/remote handset from the ignition switch.
4 Press and hold the unlock button for a maximum of 15 seconds. During this time, momentarily press the lock
button three times within 10 seconds.
5 Release both buttons.
6 Successful initialisation is indicated by the BCU locking then unlocking the vehicle. If this does not occur, repeat
step 4.
7 Repeat steps 4 and 5 with all other remote handsets belonging to the vehicle (4 maximum). Begin the
initialisation of each remote handset within 30 seconds of completing the previous initialisation, or the BCU will
drop out of the initialisation mode and the complete procedure will have to be started again. If you cut the blade or glue it together before checking this and there is a problem with the board they will not cover it,
Step 2 ...spare blades at the moment are like hens teeth so make sure it is done properly, after the blade is cut check it in the door to see if it unlocks, if all is good and the sync is done then put your transponder chip in the key, next pop it in the ignition and start the car, let it run for a while then turn off..Job done, run around for a few days with a cable tie around it until you are sure all is ok.
Step 3... When gluing the shell together do not over glue as if it goes on the board and there is a problem again they will not cover it.

The new style keys come apart very easy and with a thin flat blunt point you can flip the back off,

this will expose the board that comes out and then you can remove the silicon plug and insert your chip,

replace the plug. Refit the board and clip the back on...Job done.
The chrome side covers do clip off for those that may want to colour code the key.

Ok, on the original land rover flip you will need to sync the key, you don’t have the flashing light to tell you whats going on so listen out for the doors lock and then unlock,
These keys are new and still tight; I like to double wind the spring to give that bit more of a flick.
Then you take the key apart it will spring all over the place, don’t worry...
You should have these parts... 1994 softail full stars n stripes custom harley davidson

Great info.

@Winchester; I will call the chap and most likely post the keys. Anyone got any idea if he would just want the blades or the entire key?

Cheers

Steve

Is it possible to take the blade from the original key and get it to fit in to the new style flip key in case the key cutter f....s up the new blade when he cuts it? There is a difference between knowing your sh!t and knowing you're sh!t

Any recommendations as too where I can get the new keys cut (all sync and locking unlocking ok). If it makes it easier I am happy to buy a couple of new blanks from whoever cuts it, either to use in the flip keys if they will easily fit or just to protect their income provided that they do a decent job and cut the blade properly so it works.

Winchester101, where in Essex is the place that did yours, as I could possibly pop out for an hour or two as they seem to know what they are doing. At last I've found a key cutter who is more than willing to cut my key, 5mins and £9 later a perfectly cut key works first and every time Razz Razz . Only trawled south wales and the south west for the last 5months(off and on). For anyone in the south west area the place is Apricot keysmiths, Frome, Somerset

For making the 2010 key work, is this the correct procedure?

1. Remove transponder chip from original key
2. Remove board from new key
3. Put transponder chip into new key
4. Insert original key into ignition for pairing mode and keep new key with the original transponder chip right beside the ignition
5. Pair the new key during the pairing mode (with any other keys I have to pair)
6. If all works, get the new key cut
7. Enjoy my new key

Is this the correct procedure? Or do I get the new key cut first, move the chip over from the original into the new key and then pair the new key. Zambezi Silver Range Rover (2010 Autobiography Facelift)

Hi

I have 2003 Vogue.

Can you still get these keys? and if so, the bit you were talking about removing from the car to program them properly... can one of you guys do this? and if so how much is it for two keys programmed and everything so they work like the originals?

Thanks guys

James
