Thanks for the comments chaps...

Kingpleb, thanks, I saw those bit's but there a bit expensive, I can make my own stuff and will go down that route thanks...

I updated the software on the LPG so it will now start on LPG when hot, it is set to switch over from cold at 35degC, you can force them to start on LPG when cold but this isn't a good idea with the modern injection LPG systems, the gas can freeze in the vaporiser and damage the diaphragm or in the pipes and cause misfires, it also damages the injectors... 35deg is about the lowest temp you want to go, mine takes less than a mile to get to temp..

With the old single point systems it was fine to start on LPG from cold, in fact the first systems used, which was in Australia, used LPG all the time with no petrol use at all, they found that after many tens of thousands of miles on LPG, someone would run out of gas, switch to petrol only to find it had been dormant for so long it wouldn't work.... so they made them start on petrol every time just to keep the system working OK.

More myths and legends of LPG......!!!

Your right about using the petrol up, it starts to lose octain rating after about 3 months Pete

Thing is the V8 kicks out a good bit of heat and as long as the vapouriser is properly tapped into the heater matrix circuit there's no need to worry, as long as there is good flow over it it won't freeze Wink

I did some calcs on the underbody metalwork but for the thickness of the mantec stuff your talking £££ massive bucks basically and then fitting it to the right mounting points would need time. £100 for the sump guard and £15 for a fitting kit and 30mins under the car was a bargain to me and it does and HAS supported the full weight of the front end of the car so I reckon was at least 1100kg and hasn't bent or done anything but get a small scrape mark on it. The standard plastic guff would barely even take 5% of that Very Happy FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Yep, no problem when it's hot, it's starting it on LPG from cold that does damage...

I prefer to make my own bit's for offroading, I'm sure that Mantec one is fine though... Pete

£150 isn't expensive, they are a true bargain when you work out the cost of making good ones up the same thickness Wink

I had been tempted to buy a few more like the one I got and cut them up to make an under body skid but will be returning my FF to road going only after one more green-lane shout and event before she gets sold on once working and in perfect condition again Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Been playing again.... getting the inside to where I want it

Got rid of that dog poo looking wood on the dash, can't understand why Land Rover would make wood look so much like cheap plastic, most of the other types of wood looks nice but you can't see the grain in this type, just looks like brown plastic, never been a lover of wood anyway.... Just the door cards to go to get rid of it all....

Not sure if the carbon look is to my ultimate taste, but still way better than what's hidden beneath Very Happy

As you say, each to their own, and if it pleases you then job very well done, enjoy Thumbs Up Should've been old enough to know better...doh!

I fancy doing my trim but I think I'll have to have a wee practice first!!!
Also are the wraps not bad for peeling?

Did a mates car in this about two years ago and it's still fine, has to be applied properly, use primer for edges etc and it should last for years, you can always take it off again as it doesn't damage the underlying wood, even the primer comes off easily as it's water based... Pete

Paul,

This stuff is 3M Di-Noc carbon wrap, there are lots of cheap fakes from China, they even say 3M on the back, just get it from a reputable seller, I got it from underground-graphics on ebay but he only seems to do carbon in various colours.... Pete

Started changing the interior lights for LED's as I prefer the white light

Before

After

Changed the rear upper hub rosejoints...

Think this one had seen better days....

And did the front ARB drop links, put another post on about it but still having trouble finding the clonk from the front

See here

http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic24654.html

Also I've done some more general tidying up of the LPG system install, and changed the Thermistor in the vaporisor as it was starting to fail and was giving an erratic reading..

I do like something to play with..... lucky really..... Whistle Pete
