Sorry for bringing up this thread again, but since I have been looking for a new wooden stearing wheel for quite a while now, I have so far only found the ones of Powerful and some other ones offered on Ebay (which are from the same company btw, but they are using pictures of William Rau's steering wheels).

You can see the plastic tunnel that the screwdriver must go up. I think it's the far side of the spring which you push slightly so the plastic peg on the airbag can come out past it. My driver was longer than that I think. ![]() Previous cars : 2003 Range Rover Vogue TD6 1999 Discovery Td5 ES 1995 BMW M5 3.8 6 speed 1992 Range Rover 3.9 Efi Vogue 1992 BMW M5 3.8 1988 BMW 735i SE 1989 Ford Sierra XR4x4 2.9i 1981 Ford Fiesta Supersport |

Well, after finally having bought the wooden steering wheel from Powerful, I have to say that not only does the heated function work perfectly, but also the looks and softness of it are outstanding, IMHO. I am more than happy with my purchase. Among the last months I have bought some other upgrades for the interior, but personally I think the steering wheel is by far the biggest change of the interior. |

Nice, any close up details by any chance ? where the leather matched the woor, when the leather matches the 4 plastic "fingers" or "amrs" depending on how you want to call them.

Hey verydisco, sure, no problem at all, but you have to allow a couple of days in order to get my car back, its currently being serviced and some minor paint issues had to be corrected.

I wanted to do a bit of work on mine, so with a tight budget I used a leather treatment and it made the wheel less shiny. I stripped the spokes and sprayed/laquered, I also stripped the button bezel and did them gloss black (Conor never did his but IF he get's another FF....he will) Here are the results;

here's mine, I fitted paddles to the upper spokes, so I had to split the leather stitching on spokes to fit them in. meaning I couldn't have had chrome spokes on all four.
as mentioned earlier its non heated, and thus my paddles were 'easy' to wire in. the OF badge is a stick on ebay item. Last edited by johnboyairey on 16th Dec 2014 1:57pm. Edited 1 time in total |

I had the same problem removing for the first time, second time around i used a 3mm dia kebab skewer cut down to about 10 inches length, this was the perfect dia to fit in and had the airbag off with 30secs. |
