I used 'the wizzard' matt Stevensons youtube to wire them in to the centre console, using the heated wheels existing wires. -as I got the wheel for £150 (new) it made my decision for me not to have the heated function. it wasn't hard to wire up, but finding an earth for the wires on the wheel meant I had to wedge in a connection, unless I drilled a small hole to steering wheel body, the wedge method works though. and the lights work on the paddles too. very dim, but nevertheless there. I could have tidied up the leather on rear of paddles a bit more, but not knowing if they would last past testing... I didn't finish them perfectly, and they still look good. you cant really drive like lewis Hamilton with them, as they go round with steering wheel. but as said, I use them, on motorways etc.

You can STILL use your heated wheel with that method too sir ![]() Wire the illumination power to the heated steering wheel circuit & the earth to the black earth wire (spade connector on the airbag) From memory, the black earth wire is split into two circuit's so check that first! The 2 led's will be the tiniest of current use so won't overload the heated steering wheel circuit... That then free's up the two wires from the illumination circuit (the up/down paddle's just send an earth signal so, very thin wiring will be fine) ![]() |

So for those that have fitted the heated wooden type steering wheels would you recommend them ? |
